AMERICAN IDOL

with Danny's second song, it was SUCH a generic song choice and I don't think he brought anything new to the table with it. it sounds like every other slow Danny Gokey song. He is a one trick pony just like Reuben and Taylor before him.
I somewhat agree with that, but the funny thing is, I feel exactly the same way about Adam. I mean, if you really watch all of Adam's performances, he doesn't really offer much more variety than Danny did. He's a better vocalist, which is great and he'll probably win because of it. I'm happy for the guy. But my votes will probably go to Kris simply because I prefer his style.

Mine too. As amazing as Adam is, I just prefer Kris's vocal style. Simple as that. But no matter who wins, they'll both have very successful careers.

Can you imagine the tour if Adam doesn't win? He goes 2nd to last and then Kris has to come out and follow him? Talk about anti-climatic.....

Posted: 5/14/09 at 11:28amIt all comes down to who gets the votes from Danny's fans. If Danny has lots of fans who don't like Adam (for whatever reason), Kris could be the winner.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2230
Posted: 5/14/09 at 11:31amI just really believe Kris will win. He has Danny's millons of votes. and the under dog status...and he is straight, and adorable, and Christian, and middle America..I don't think Adam will be able to overcome that. It's a shame..but true.

So true! I have to admit tho, I liked Danny telling Ryan to just "get it over with" and hearing Adam say "I wanna see Katy Perry" was funny.

I guess so, if you do believe that the votes are the final determinant. I still think the producers will "produce" the winner who will be best for the bottom line.

Posted: 5/14/09 at 11:35amI agree Jane. And Stock has a great point about the tour. Although I really love Kris, it would be extremely anti-climatic to have him perform last since Adam has had enormous amounts of hype from the beginning.

That's true, Stock! But I'm not seeing the tour so I don't care that much about it. ;P Honestly I'll probably vote a lot for Kris with some votes for Adam. Kris is definitely more my style of music but Adam is ridiculously talented as well.
They're so different from each other too. You have the glam rock star and then the laid-back crooner. It'll be an interesting results night next week, that is for sure.

I don't get that. You do see the logical problem with that, right?

Does anyone have a copy of the Ten Commandments with Val Kilmer and Adam Lambert?? Well I was watching it again just to see why I liked Adam in that but wholy and completely dislike him now. He didn't screech as much, he did screech when called for but it wasn't every momement and in your face like he is now. The musical sucked but he was good in it and I liked him then...now I can't stand him.
I want Kris to win so bad I can hardly stand it. I like his style. I like his originality and his free spirit while hes singing. I also keep finding myself drawn back to itunes and watching him sing Ain't No Sunshine ..when he gets into that song so completely you can see it in his face, his body language and you can hear it in his voice. I heard it in his voice from the very first note of his audition and he hasn't ever really had a bad night..he deserves this!!
I definetly want the under dog to win this time!!

I'm aware that some votes will cancel out, but it'll make me feel better knowing that I voted for both, whether they really count or not. Weird, I know.
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2240
Posted: 5/14/09 at 1:19pmWhy does American Idol always boil down to a popularity contest instead of who is more talented? I've interviewed some hot guys that I would have loved to hire, but they had no qualifications for what I needed (at work anyway). So I had to hire some average looking people with experience. I think many people forget what this show is all about. Not who is cute or whos style we like better. Who has the complete package of what an American Idol should be. I am both a Kris and Adam fan. I still think Adam has all the qualities that an American idol should possess. Well that's my opinion.

Boobs is exactly correct.
Except that it is, and always will be, a popularity contest.

I'm quite pleased with the results, as well! Very very happy!
By the way, this is from textsfromlastnight.com

re: AMERICAN IDOL#2243
Posted: 5/14/09 at 1:32pmwell, I for one think Adam's the most talented! It's a perk that he's also very pretty and nice....
re: AMERICAN IDOL#2245
Posted: 5/14/09 at 1:49pmI like both of them. Adam has command of that stage- no question. Kris plays piano and guitar- don't think Adam does. Elisabeth Hasselbeck was complaining about how Simon called Bono personally and that Bono gave permission and gratitude for him to sing his song. She also complained about Katy Perry's cape and the fact that Adam is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Seems like Gokey fans will favor Kris- just my opinion. Joy Behar brought up the fact that when they went to the hometowns- there were so many pre-teen fans. Elisabeth is convinced the judges are trying to manipulate an Adam win. I wouldn't be surprised if they have manufactured all of this Adam stuff just to make an upset happen. Then the runner-up will be seen as the underdog- well, you all know the drill by now. I hope Adam wins just to make Elisabeth even more mad!

Jane - what I'm reading is that the gay factor may be an issue.
And let me make clear - I don't watch the show, I've just been noticing remarks in various places that has intrigued me.
Look at the bottom right hand corner of the EW cover. It's being brought up openly as never before, so it's hard to ignore as an issue.

Adam is one acid tab away from Z Man in BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS.
Oh, and he makes every song sound like an outtake from RENT.
