OK folks if you haven't seen this movie yet you may want to skip this one. Consider this your spoiler space..........
Well it has Hugh. This is a great popcorn muncher. Ummm... did I mention Hugh. David Wenham (From LOTR) was wonderfully funny as Hugh's friar sidekick. The CGI was great. It was a fun and funny movie. But that is all I can say about it. It was not scary. there were times it got so painful that we almost got up and left. All in all, it was a popcorn muncher, had some good laughs, but I am glad I only spent $7 for my ticket.
B
But it had Hugh
If you paid $ 7 for the movie, it can not be in NYC where it is now $ 10.50 a pop
Nope I live in Western Massachusetts, about 3 hours out of the City.
It's up to $10.50? Wow- in Westchester it's only $9.25!
Folks I love hearing the price differences.... but what did you think of the movie?
$6.50 in DC. And the movie was fluff. But fun fluff.
I am 57 ( 58 in August ) & have gray hair. When I take my hat off, I can get in as a senior citizen
Yes, Hugh is gorgeous and I saw it because he was in it. I am seeing him in Boys From Oz again on the 29th. But as for the movie, I agree, it was not really scary almost comical in parts. It was overdone with special effects very overdone.

I haven't been to a movie since the last Star Wars came out but I was thinking about going to see this one when I'm in Salt Lake.
It looks like fun.

It was not as good or as fun as either of "THE X-MEN", but frankly a million times more entertaining than "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" (but then WHAT isn't?)
Hugh was fine
Loved Roxburgh chewing the scenery
A bit long for a popcorn movie, methinx they tossed in one too many of the Classic Movie Monsters.....kinda complicated the storyline.....there will be a second, it did 50 million in the States & 50 million overseas...I hope the second one is more streamlined, BRING BACK THE COUNT, and hope the sequel is better
YAY for Hugh, it was entertaining enough, but not great
Dracula was a scream!! Somewhere inbetween Tim Curry, Alan Rickman and Count Chocula. But I had a good time.

I ADORE Roxburgh, he is just too gorgeous even as a BloodSucker, perhaps even BECAUSE of the Bloodsucking...yummy
Tossing popcorn back ayt Mominator
Hugh is GORGEOUS
I am gonna get the 12 Inch Van Helsing Action Figure to go along with my 12 Inch Wolverine Action Figure
Better yet I am gonna get the Six Foot Three Hugh at The Imperial
That last item would sell big time if they ever made it

Thia is a real disappointment. I love horror movies and had high hopes for Van Helsing when I first saw it advetised a few months back. Given the choice this past weekend, I went with Godsend instead because Van helsing didn't look as good as I hoped it would be. Guess I'll skip it completely.
Ruffian you can have the cardboard cutout! I'll take HUGH!!
Ugh, Van Helsing. If not for The Luscious Hugh Jackman, I may have just exchanged my ticket to rewatch Kill Bill 2. I laughed my ass off - and it's not a comedy. The movie was like Rocky Horror Picture Show, without the intention of being campy and satirical. Oy.
Oh it sucked but I had fun. Hugh Jackman. Yum. My only complaint.... NO NUDITY.
I agree, Dame. I mean couldn't one of those warewolves rip his clothes off just ONCE with their claws?? I mean, C'mon we're not paying for plot here!
