I, personally, would not have an abortion. I am, however, Pro-Choice. I think the chuch should stop trying to force their beliefs on everyone else. I know the US was founded on Christian principles, but it was also founded for religious freedom and there is such a thing as separation of Church and State.

Is this a can of worms we really want to open here? It never ends well.

The worms are already everywhere, I fear...
I've never really thought about it but I'd probably agree with you paroxysm.
Well, if the worms start growing teeth, the mods can always delete the thread. =] I'm just interested in people's opinions.
I'm all for abortion. If there was more of it, we wouldn't have so many assholes on this planet.
Just kidding.
Kind of.
I feel that women should have the freedom to make decisions about their own body - within reason of course. It's absurd to think that a group of mostly male lawmakers feel that they have the right to make that decision for millions of women.
Is it just me, or is it starting to get more and more like The View around here?

It's just you.
Take a little time to enjoy the view.
I, personally, am against it . . . but I am not in any way, shape, or form going to tell a woman what is best for her.

I refuse to put my opinion here but, I've got a question:
Those who don't believe in abortion at all, how would you feel if you were raped and got pregnant?
Then my opinion might change. Really, until you are put in a situation where you have to choose . . . an opinion really doesn't matter.
See? We can be civilized. Hopefully it'll last.

AMEN! Oops, that's religious, and this board is strictly secular...

"Those who don't believe in abortion at all, how would you feel if you were raped and got pregnant?"
This is the worst pro-choice argument that exists today. Less than 1% of all abortions are due to rape or incest. And with the availabiltiy of EC, this number will decline even further. To argue that abortion should remain legal for the less than 1% of women is asinine. To win the fight, the debate needs to focus on the 99% of women who should have the right to their own bodies. The rape argument just does not hold water.
"It's just you."
Yeah, Thanks for that.
I'm pro-choice, and feel that this is the decision of the individual. Also, as long as abortions are happening, we might as well be sure that they're being done safely.
I don't understand the people that are pro-life and pro-death pentalty. Isn't that kind of an oxymoron?
I hate the whole "you can put them in an orphanage" argument. Orphanages are over populated as it is.

The orphanage idea is pathetic. Has no one ever seen Annie? They're desparate! And there aren't enough Daddy Warbuckses in the world...
And I agree about the pro-death penalty point. What idiots.

The government should keep its noses out of women's cooches. Those are my two cents.

This is a joke, right?

Right. I still think the put 'em in orphanages thing is a bad solution, but that bit was indeed a joke.
