There was a horror movie that came out last year where 62-year-old Kevin Bacon was married to 35-year-old Amanda Seyfried, and somehow THAT wasn't the horror element of the movie

I’d take no issue with it if Hollywood was also making movies where Shirley MacLaine was sleeping with Zac Efron.
Jack Nicholson with Helen Hunt and Amanda Peet was nauseating.
For an older woman to have a younger male lover in a film she has to be a “milf.” However any old haggard male actor with a gut and face like a foot is paired with beautiful young women. It’s psych 101 for these hideous Hollywood execs who are acting out their own fantasies.

I was pretty much shut down when I pointed out the age difference between Streep and Key in The Prom. (Maybe not as extreme as some of these examples but 2 decades is pretty big.)

Perhaps it's art imitating life. There are scores of older gentlemen of means and influence whose second or third wives are somewhat younger than their ex-wives who came first. Hell, Ari Onassis was 23 years older than Jackie Kennedy when they tied the knot, and so on. And, the phenomenon outside the so-called first world is not that uncommon. Folks like what they like, a notion not lost on Hollywood which rarely has an original thought, I submit.

It should be the exception not the rule. And equally exceptional with older women-younger men, when it is clearly far more prevalent than that.

In real life, tennis star Venus Williams who is 40 is dating 23 yr old Reilly Opelka who happens to be 6ft 11 in tall and ranked #35.

Nobody is having that discussion. This is about Older Actors intentionally have significantly younger actresses play their love interests that is never reciprocated in the other direction. It's not about actual people's actual choices to shack up with people significantly younger or older than them...
