Okay: Christina Aguilera is by far the voice of our generation. With a voice like that, it's interesting to see how many of her songs are sexed-uped dance tracks and soft Sia-penned ballads. Is "Lotus" better than "Bionic?" I really liked "Bionic," and I only care for a new of the new tracks. (Side note: If Xtina released "Glam" as a single and added Pitbull on to "Desnudate," "Bionic" could have been really big!)
I think that instead of "Your Body," she should have pushed "Make The World Move" or "Let There Be Love" as a first single, with "Army Of Me" as a second single and "Just A Fool" shortly after the start of the new year. I think "Your Body" is a hot album track, but not a proper single. I also "Red Hot Kinda Love," "Light Up The Sky," "Around The World," and "Blank Page." "Circles" really harkens back to "Stripped," which I really appreciated. I also don't get how she compares "Fighter" to "Army Of Me" - the message is the same, but the songs are so different.
I know she is performing at the American Music Awards, but she really needed to get her name out there more as a solo artist and not as a reality television judge. She should have sung at the Whitney Houston tribute - her voice could match Whitney's powerhouse vocals (maybe not the nuances). I think she needs a makeover - it's fine if hse lost weight, but she needs to dress well and wear less make-up. She needs to stop with the fan, tiaras, and other crazy sh!t - she's not Lady Gaga. She tries so hard to as outrageous as Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and Katy Perry, but if she kept it classy and exciting like Kelly Clarskon and Beyonce, she'd have a better chance.
I love Christina and think she is an incredible talent, but she needs someone to take more control of her career. I know the past few years have been rough (see: Bionic, Burlesque, a divorce, award snubs, waking up hung over at Jeremy Renner's house after the Golden Globes, some trashy outfits, unflattering hairdo's, fumbling the National Anthem, tripping at the Grammy Awards, and so on), but she can do it. She is a fighter, after all!
