Is anyone else finding that most of what they are offering is junk? Or am I the only one not willing to fight for vitamins and shoehorns? I mean, I did get a couple of items. But, this really is not as great as they made it sound.
It's being reported that this was just a high profile way for Amazon to clean out a lot of their overstock.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Massive disappointment.
It doesn't even begin to live up to the hype. Pretty lame so far...
I'm also getting confused with what is available. Like is it just those lightning deals and offers? It's too confusing to search for other things that are listed like the Dvds.
It's a bunch of hooey, not worth my time or attention.
And how many times will the Kindle be on sale every year? I feel like I've never seen one offered at full price.
I almost renewed my prime membership last night. Sounds like I lucked out. Sorry to hear the deals are lousy for you guys though.
It's not very impressive, I agree.
But I love my Prime membership. The free 2 day shipping alone is worth it for me, but then there is all the streaming content (audio and video) which just seals the deal.
Yeah, just this sale was worthless. The shipping and streaming is still good though. I probably order something at least once a month.
Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I just got an amazing deal on a VHS head cleaner so as you can imagine, I'm pretty jazzed. So worth it.

I got an Amazon stick, do I'm.pretty psyched. And some pantry things reduced.
Other than rhat, I've barely paid attention.
Amazon are evil tax-dodgers who treat their staff like sh!t, I know they're great and all, but I really hope they get a big fat comeuppance. I still order from them, of course. The first step is admitting you're part of the problem instead of the solution, right?

The only deal I used was the Prime Pantry free shipping (usually flat $5.99 for Prime members). Bought .... oh, y'all don't care what I bought! General food and household type stuff, basically. Have used Prime Pantry in the past and liked it for the most part.
But yeah, their general Prime Day deals, not much to see.

That's both surprising and disappointing to hear about Amazon since it was founded by and is run by Bezos, who is a major Democratic party donor and high-profile "progressive" voice. Interesting....

This is the first the Headcase has heard of this? Bezos is just as much a free market libertarian as the 'case.

I could be wrong, but got the impression Fisherman Bob was just a'joshin' about that VHS head cleaner.
However, a VHS machine is used almost every day in our home. (Yes, we have DVD players, no Blu-Ray yet.) Massive collection of VHS tapes, mostly from when our sons were kids. Our youngest adult son still plays 3 VHS tapes every day, except he skips every other Friday and Monday. Don't ask why. He makes up his own rules, and he doesn't talk. Today was an off Friday (as Monday predictably will be). Yesterday's tapes were: a Tailspins, a Road Runner/Wile Coyote, and tape 1 of Kevin Kline's Hamlet (originally mine, but he took it over pretty much). I'm sure it's going to get harder and harder to find a new/used working VHS machine. Been through several models over the years, some of which were bought on Amazon.
I heard you could get some sweet sweet deals on granny panties.
JbaraFan, if you're ever looking for a replacement VCR, check out pawn shops or places like Goodwill. They ALWAYS have them and you can find them for $5-$10 instead of places like Amazon where you'll spend significantly more. I'm very much an active VHS collector (as well as laserdisc) so I have 4 working VCR's here.
