Okay folks.......who's going to make it to the last three? Who's going to win? Any favorites?
WAAAY to early to predict. Let's do this thread in another few weeks.

I don't think it's too early. It can be narrowed down to three or four contestants, from what we've seen so far. Katharine, Paris, maybe Kelly Pickler............

175 people made it to Hollywood. We have seen the auditions of MAYBE 75 of those who have made it. The other 100 won't be shown until Hollywood or possibly even the start of public voting. Latoya London, anyone? She was a surprise out of left field when she broke out "All By Myself" back in 2004. She finished fourth and has released an album. It is BEYOND anyone's game right now.

I hear what your saynig, but I've got some inside scoop, and we've seen the best talent this year. There will be others that are good, but the winner has most likely made an appearance. The producers control a lot leading up to the final 12. The hollywood round was filmed last October, and although the info is not "public", the final 12 has already been decided. You can find lists of the final 24 if you dig a little. So............what do ya think? Paris, Katharine, Kelly???????????

Two People were memorable for me!
Ann Nesby's Grandaughter, I think her name was Paris.
This Carrie Underwood type girl. She wore a pink shirt and I think she lived with her grandfather and had a drug-addict father.
Anyways, I like those!
After seeing the previews for the Hollywood shows listening to one of the black boy twins(the ones who stole a car or something), saying "I don't do groups!" and "My spirit has been broken." I think he'll be entertaining but won't make it!
Also this is just a general thought! I HATE THE FACT that Simon(and the other two) place so much emphasis on how you look when you walk in. As if you can't get your image changed or something. And I don't know why these kids that they say "You have a good voice but not the right look", I don't know why they don't throw Ruben, Clay, Frenchie Davis, Kimberly Locke, this big guy named Matt on Season 3, Jennifer Hudson, ect. I don't know why they don't throw that in their face! Especially Ruben!
Anyways, That girl that came in with her twin that didn't audition, they LOVED the way she was dressed and her face. But she was really boring as a singer. You're supposed to try to impress them with the 30 seconds you get and she didn't at all......well she didn't impress me and she got to go.
Then the girl who does song therapy with the elderly, while her song didn't show her best range, I thought it was MUCH BETTER than the other girl and she didn't get to go.
Anyways, I guess I don't really agree with the Ethics of the show like that.
Also, I question some of their knowledge of music. Randy and Paul always says "You changed Keys like 12 times" and stuff like that "you were out of tune". First of all, if your singing acapella I really didn't think you could be out of tune because you really don't have to be out of tune with.
And sometimes they do change keys, but usually their voices are just bad. I don't know why they say that about changing keys when it's not necessarily true.
That's just my thoughts!

voztimbrada, I've got to disagree with you here on one point. Yes, the Hollywood round (which I've heard actually occurred in more like December, but that point doesn't really matter) takes it down from 175 to usually 36, not 12. In previous years, they showcased four groups of 8, of which 2 from each were voted by the public into the Top 12.
Last year the producers narrowed it to 12 men and 12 women, this time having the public vote for the best man and best woman over 6 weeks, each week, all moving on but one man and one woman, until we had the Top 12. I'm not sure if it will work that way this year or not, but I would guess it will. The one thing I know for sure is that the Top 12 has NOT already been decided. At most, the Top 24 has been set.

Okay, good point. I knew the top 24 had been decided, and I was under the impression that the top twelve was decided by the judges (the 24 round starts shooting next week). I could be mistaken there. Anyway, I know one of the contestants, and based on what she has told me, she's through to the end. Perhaps I misunderstood. Your right on the shoot date for the hollywood round. I was mixed up with my friends initial audition date.
Either way, there are lists of the top 24 on the internet. So I was hoping to pre-empt discussion on who would make it through based on what we've seen. All in good fun.

Thanks for the corrections/clarifications, by the way. :)

Not a problem, and good luck to your friend!
I don't know why they don't throw Ruben, Clay, Frenchie Davis, Kimberly Locke, this big guy named Matt on Season 3, Jennifer Hudson, ect. I don't know why they don't throw that in their face! Especially Ruben!
Well, Ruben pretty much had one big hit off his debut album and disappeared. He released a gospel album in November 2004 but it wasn't a big seller, at least partially because he was in the hospital and unable to promote it when it was released.
Anyway, although it's obvious that we've already seen a few people who will make it far in the competition, it really is still anyone's game. Some standouts aren't shown until the Hollywood episodes. And for those of you who weren't watching back then, in season 1 Kelly Clarkson wasn't shown in the auditions or the Hollywood round - the first time we saw her was when she performed during the semifinals.
The reason I listed them is to shows that this image of Usher or Jessica Simpson that they want is not always to best way to go and they have broken their rule many times.

Why is everyone so un-opinionated all of a sudden. Usually, on the board, everyone is so quick to name their favorites. Now everyone is objective and logical. Unlike me....... (heh, heh)
Which one's do you like? That's all I'm saying?......which ones are the best?
I like that guy who's a short-ish cowboy..he lives in that 4 person town :)
And, that 16 yr old guy who sang The Temptations for his audition

Um, the Pickler girl, and the gay cowboy who sang Elton John. That was funny.
I also like the guy with the grey hair :)
If image is important, I actually think his image is kinda lasting in a way. Where as the Ashlee Simpson-type people look very fleeting.
I wish that the "Lil' Kim" girl made it just so we can listen to her again!

Did anyone see the clip of the diva?
"I do not to groups! Nuh uh. No way."
Gag me.

I know. The Diva was funny. Looks like some serious drama tonight on idol.
I liked the guy with the grey hair too. I liked his style, and his demeanor. Cool voice. He seemed very down to earth and simple too. Appealing qualities. He gets a lot of points for style. Although I doubt it will be enough to take him to the end. I guess we'll see.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who couldn't stand the Twins that were eliminated!
I'm all about that Chris Daughtry guy...he sang "the First Cut is the Deepest" last night.
Yah. I'm in love a little bit.

is he the cowboy? Who sounds kinda like Alan Jackson?
No, not a cowboy. A hot, rock-looking guy. Keep your eyes peeled. They showed a small clip of him sing "First Cut..." last night towards the end of the show.

Sorry! Guess I wasn't paying attention. I'll look for him next week.
