Each and every season the studio audience generally comes off as a bunch of morons, booing Simon no matter what he says (which is almost always valid and on the mark). I get embarrassed for those people who go up there and suck (Hi, Brenna and Heather) and get all huffy with him instead of just taking the criticisms. Then American feels sorry for those that Simon "picks" on and these useless people stick around longer than they should.

Brenna can go right now. I can't stand her. She mugs and feels the need to act out her songs.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. I liked Lisa Tucker, too. She's so unaffacted.

I've loved Paris from the moment she came on the screen, but I'm sorry, I think all that skipping and sassiness was out of place for a song like "Midnight Train." And all that jumping around made her voice sound funny. I thought they gave her more credit than she deserved tonight.

i agree kringas. paris reminds me a lot of fantasia. shes got a great voice, but something about her annoys me.

I missed tonights show due to the skating. I am I the only one who thinks Kelli is only average? I mean from what I have seen she has a nice voice and all but I have heard way better.

Who is the girl that Simon made fun of because she was overweight? I love her and think she should win.

The towel waving reminded me of a Per?nist rally. I kept chanting "Evita!" whenever they'd pan to the crowds. - SM2

I think Kelli is only about acerage too. Tonight was good, but not great. She is a very sweet person though which makes a lot of people like her more.

Lisa was little Nala in the touring production of the Lion King way back when. I remember seeing her perform at the Pantages in LA. She was adorable back then and even more gorgeous now.

Paris is just too young, her voice isn't mature enough to do what she wants it to do. And she shouldn't have skipped around like that, it made her voice wobble a lot and the judges really should have commented on that. Katherine was the best of the night, and the girl from Mt. Vernon, as much as I gotta give her props for being from my town, annoys the hell out of me.

i think kellie will improve. shes got a great voice, but nerves have gotten the better of it. she said she never sang for anyone until about 3 years ago. now she goes from singing for a few people to this many, shes bound to be nervous. once shes used to 30+ million people watching her, shell calm down and find her voice.

and lisa is gorgeous and talented.

i dont think mandisa will win. im sure simons apology thing made her more liked, but there are more talented people on the competition.

Roninjoey, that girl from Mt. Vernon is Brenna. I can't flipping stand her, either. I don't understand why she has to pantomime everything, and why they don't call her out on that.

the two i think will be leaving thursday (based on tonights performances) are Becky and Stevie, both were incredibly weak, and the girl who sang opera (was that stevie?) I called randy's comment about halfway through her performance, "boring"!

when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.

I loved Katherine McPhee since her first audition. Probably because the song "God Bless the Child" is one of my Liza/Barbra favorites. Whenever she named the song she was singing and started singing her praises of Barbra, I knew I had been right on the money.

As someone who has been in the studio audience at least twice every season I can tell you that the audience coordinator and the producer are standing in the back leading the boos as well as the applause. Also.. in this stage of the competition ( until the final 12 when they move to the big studio) the audience is made up of only some family and paid extras. Yep.. it is true. It is cheaper and easier for them than to hire personell to deal with a real audience. However.. once they get to the final 12 it is all ticket holders.

Lisa was my favorite last night, probably followed by Mandisa and Katharine. Becky and Stevie need to go this week - it's obvious that Becky only made it this far because she's gorgeous, and Stevie was just weak. I wouldn't mind Heather leaving, either. Brenna is annoying as hell, but she can stay for another week so I don't have to listen to those two again.

Dame, I noticed that for the first time last night. All thier families were there, and most of the moms were lip-syncing to while thier daughters were singing. Mama Rose does indeed live on.

I loved Katherine's voice, but I have to say I thought her overall performance was poor. I couldn't really concentrate because she didn't seem to feel the song, she just sang it. Did anyone else notice she was smiling the whole time? Isn't that song supposed to be generally sad? Maybe it's just my interpretation, but it bothered me...

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.
