xxnewgirl - was Chris Daughtry the guy who looked like Gavin Rossdale? If so, he was a favoe of mine too.
Also, Katharine and Paris of course were great. But, I do think the Pickler is overrated. She's cute, but she sings only OK.

I think the grey haired guy is the secret love child of Michael McDonald.

The little cowboy was too cute. He couldn't sing, but he was indeed adorable.
The grey haired guy - his voice reminded me a Joe Cocker, but yes michael McDonald too (sheeeeee had a place in my heart....)

I think Garet, the little cowboy, is precious beyond words, and I don't care if he is gay. He's just different than most people. I mean, at his audition, he said the only thing he's every sung to was a turkey. He's just a small town boy.
I did like Kelly (Pickler?) at first but when she went up and said "I'm the next American Idol because I deserve it." Um, no one owes her anything...therefore she doesn't deserve it. But she is very talented among all things.

If Chris Daughtry is who I'm thinking of, (shaved head, rocker, last night had a bright turquoise shirt), then he is currently my pick for the whole thing.
It might change when we actually see them all, but I wanna say it here first: Chris Daughtry, American Idol
(or at least a finalist)
I think it's time another guy won...I can just see the picture of the 5 idols, Kelley, Ruben, Fantasia, Carrie, Chris...it's a great picture.
I also love the 16 year old black girl and the one whose gramdmother is famous. And I can see that Senator's daughter from Boston doing something. She had a VERY powerful voice and was pitch perfect, but as usual, the judges were a lot harder on someone good and almost didn't take her. (they said she had no stage presence)

Yes, I think that was Chris...either short hair or shaved. Can't remember what he wore, but he sounded great. I agree that its time for another male Idol. Let's face it, Bo should have won (but from what I read, he didn't want to win).

OK, this sounds crazy but I think I saw one of the contestants come into the movies where I work. He looked exactly like that bald rocker gu. I don't know what his name was...I should have asked him if he was from Idol. But, the question is, if he's here in NC, did he not make it through the Hollywood rounds??

peggyandvelma, It is altogether possible that he (the bald rocker guy) was in NC. The intial auditions were all taped last fall, then the initial hollywood rounds that we saw Wednesday and we will see next week were all taped in December. At that point, they had it narrowed down to the final 24. Then they send everybody home until February. He may have been eliminated, or he could be coming back. When the final 23 return, we begin the live coverage with public voting, etc. Either way, the live stuff starts a week from now. Inside sources say he made it through. There are leaked lists of the final 24 floating around on the internet.

I love Chris Daughtry! He's awesome! I love the rocker and country thing making it into american idol now!
And for our little Garret from Wyoming! He is so adorable and I don't think he's gay. Honestly, this kid has never even seen the world. Never left the state, probably never even left his ranch! And he is just so sheltered and innocent...aww I love him! lol

i absolutely ADORE garret! he wont make it much farther, but hes got the greatest attitude, i just love him to death.

It WAS Chris Daughtry. That's crazy! I saw his picture on our local news' website and he's from my hometown. It was totally him. I should've asked for an autograph. I really hope he didn't get eliminated. He's a good pick from the guys this season.

They're announcing the final 24 on tomorrow's episode. At the end of tonight's episode, there were 44 contestants remaining.

Rachlara- Last nights episode was kind of blah. The group auditions are never very good, as they are thrown together, and solo singers don't always make the best group folks. Plus, they kind of make up their own routines, which lends even more to the suckiness.
Yankeesfan - rumor has it Pickler made it through to the final 24. After that, we'll see I guess. I think her story/background is enough to get her the votes for final 12. Katharine and her are room mates, by the way.
