I love Katharine. But I can't even listen to Bucky when he sings I can't stop thinking about how odd he looks. And how his name is Bucky...(no offense if any of you are named Bucky.. but he just looks SO much like a Bucky that it creeps me out.)

yet another snooze fest on AI. Jeez, when will they pick a decent them, and when will the kids pick decent songs.
I have to say I still hate that song, but I liked Katharine's version better than Faith's.
Another crap show! Simon is dead on. The song choices have been abysmal. And being coached by that one lift too many, over the hill has-been, Kenny Rogers, doesn't help either.

Uh oh! We're running into country-songs-that-weren't-originally-country-songs territory here!

well, that was boring.
So are they going to do Prince songs next week? Can you imagine?
Prince songs?!

I think they should really mix things up one week and do Nine Inch Nails songs or, better yet, Gansta Rap.
They should just do ALL open choice nights, all the time. These theme nights suck. Or at least, do a TIME PERIOD - don't force someone who would NEVER sing a country song in their career ever to sing a country song! What's next, disco night??? UGH...
But, once again, Chris, Katharine and Elliot blew the rest away.
I say yodling for next week. I just think that would be really entertaining because this show is SO boring now.

Ugh! The clips at the end...
What I hated about Paris' song (and what I hate about Leeann Rimes' version) is that "live" should NOT rhyme with "breathe".
And Bucky was trying too hard to sound like Gary Allan. It didn't work.
I thought Bucky did alright this week. I would hope he would do well since it was country. Chris and Elliot again were the best. I'm not sure why everyone is in love with Katharine. She has an average voice. I really don't like her attitude. I would be very annoyed if she was top 3.

I heard a rumor that next week they're doing Queen songs...I don't know if that's true or not but if so, I hope they don't butcher them.
Some of my favs are Chris, Paris, Katharine and of course Taylor Hicks. I can't guess who's going home after tonight, though.
Since when is Vertical Horizon country?

They're doing Queen next week. It's posted on the official site. Personally, I can't wait.
katharine's hip dance by the stairs=HOT! and im a straight girl!
Akiva I thought the same thing, I love that song when done by Vertical Horizon, but apparently recently some country artist is doing it *shudders*
I love country, but it's weird to hear songs that I used to listen to on Alt and Rock stations to be played on Country Stations.
*digs out old VH album* Whatever happened to them?
Wow...I cant believe the reviews here for Chris. I predicted that once he sang a ballad, it would show what a bad singer he is...and to me it did just that. Uncontrolled, pitchy and he cant sustain a note unless he yells it.
I do think he is a pretty good performer. I wish Elliot had more of that...he is the anti Chris. Bad performer but excellent singer.
I actually liked Kelly and Bucky better than Paris last nite (not that they were good, mind you.) She was awful. I dont like her singing power ballads. Her pronounciation is so odd, Allie, I agree with you.
Ace...must....go.
Those are the three I voted for, shameless.
I actually didn't even know any of the songs besides "Take Me Home, Country Road" and "How Do I Live?". And honestly, I don't wanna know them.
But Elliot and Chris both sounded wonderful. And Katharine...I don't mind admitting I have a girl crush on her. She's talented and absolutely drop dead gorgeous. When they showed Chris and Katharine in the "coming up" portion, I lost it.

I'm officially stuck here...but here are my early thoughts (I may change them as the day progresses!)
Taylor - WTF? Sounded very much "like karaoke." I expected a lot more from him. I think he is safe because his cumulative GPA is good, but last night was a D-.
Mandisa - It was OK. I would have liked a different song from here, but it was OK. Just ehh for me.
Ace - Unfortunately, he may have saved his pretty little bottom this week by pulling a "ballad whilst sitting on stool" stunt. I hope people will see through that! He may be somewhat pretty, but he's not as pretty as Keith Urban and he can't sing as well either.
Paris - Wrong key maybe? Wrong song? She had trouble with the lower notes, but then the high notes were a bit of a struggle. Boooring performance and an overdone AI song. She could be in trouble.
Elliott - Honestly, I can't remember his performance, which is sad. I do remember that I still love his voice, and there were a lot of runs last night which I didn't much care for, but I can't remeber the song at all!
Katharine - She looked gorgeous. She sang well. I thought it was a bit odd (as did Simon), and she is not my favorite on this show, but I think she's safe tonight.
Kellie - She was fine tonight. For the first time in the history of this show, I don't have any complaints about her. She's safe.
Chris - I thought he was OK-to-pretty good, and I love that song. It was nice to see him branch out a bit and sing a ballad for once. Interesting if nothing else. He's safe.
Bucky - Well, I love this song (I've only heard the Vertical horizon version - which one is the original anyway?). But I expected more from Bucky on "country night." So, I think he was good, but it may be because I liked the song? Can't tell.
Bottom three? My early predictions tell me Taylor and Paris may be in a bit of danger, and then either Ace or Elliott. Hopefully Ace goes home.

I will not be sad if Kellie or Ace go home. Or Bucky, but he doesn't bother me as much as the other two.

peach, Vertical Horizon did the song originally, but it was recently covered by the talented and gorgeous Gary Allan. You can listen to a clip of his version on his site.

Thank you Allie! Bucky gets props for singing a fab song.
Honestly - I have no clue who is going to go home tonight. Bucky is growing on me (and I did NOT like him at the beginning). I would actually like to see him stay another week so he can sing Fat Bottomed Girls on Queen night (seriously - he could kick some a$% with that song - pun mildly intended...)
My preference would be for Ace to hit the road. But it may not happen...per the aforementioned stunt he pulled last night!
