re: American Idol Predictions

Katherine's problem is she's stiff. She doesn't shine on stage. She has a nice voice but she seems like an obnoxious b*tch. She knows she's beautiful and talented and I think people are just plain sick of her. She isn't a good sport and NEITHER are her family members... they virtually BOOed Bucky out of his seat when katherine went to the bottom 3. She deserved to be in the bottom 2 because she DID copy the Christina cd to a T. There's nothing special in that. I think either she or ace will go next week because it's country...bucky/kellie's top genre.

re: American Idol Predictions

Katherine just lacks self esteem to me. I don't get the bit$# thing.

Love Elliot, he is the bomb dawg (sorry).

Chris needs to step up and prove his versatility (be nice).

Mandisa can go away. She has no personality nor individuality....can you say "boring"? Heard it all before by several current "artists".

Paris will bring some surprises.

Ace...............

Taylor could be a major contender.

Bucky, remains to be seen.

Pickler, needs to lose the dumb blonde personnae(sp).

Am I the only one that thinks that Taylor is not commercially viable.
when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.

re: American Idol Predictions

The "conspiracy theory" part of my brain says they chose Country as next week's genre because they think Ace will truly suck at it and they want him gone.

re: American Idol Predictions

I really don't get where people get all their information to draw these dramatic conclusions about these peoples' personalities, attitudes and thoughts.

They could all be saints or serial killers for all we know.

re: American Idol Predictions

From a friend who knows - Lisa had the least number of votes, then Ace, then Katharine. (Then Elliot for anyone who cares).

Whoever pointed out the very careful wording when Ace was sent back to his chair and Katharine and Lisa were in the "bottom" two was very astute.

The show doesn't lie about the results but is sneaky about presenting them to get maximum shock value - as they should - its a t.v. show...

re: American Idol Predictions

Ugh...Kelli and Bucky had more votes than Elliot too?
That just makes me so tired....

re: American Idol Predictions

My only thought is that last week was so bad that people just didn't want to vote for anyone unless they had interest in keeping someone on the show that they thought would be gone. I mean look at Katherine and Elliot...you would not expect them to be in the bottom at all.

Reminds me of season 3 when it was down to Latoya and three others people thought that she was safe so they voted for someone else

re: American Idol Predictions

I didn't vote on Tuesday and I usually do. I think you can partly blame the public's apathy to a very mediocre evening of performances. Apparently all the voting numbers were significantly down from the prior week.

re: American Idol Predictions

The final three in my opinion will be Ace, Chris, and Katharine.

Simon said that he thought Pickler would be in the final three. I strongly disagree with this.

Taylor is so talented vocally, I wish that he would do something just great! He really has the power to blow everyone out of the water, and I await the day he does!

Lisa should not have gone. She was not the weakest link by a long-shot, I believe that both Kellie and Bucky are beneath her talent wise.

The two most talented people (vocally) in the competition ae Chris and Mandisa.

I could not agree more with Bennett that Pickler and Bucky will get much further than everyone thinks, but I'm just so confused as to why Simon thinks that Kellie will be in the final three?! Does anyone agree?

I'm pretty sure that Mandisa or Paris will finish fourth, with Elliot as fifth.

It is Chris's competition to loose.

re: American Idol Predictions

I am hoping Chris makes it all the way. I think he is great. Hey if there can be a country American Idol, ex:Carrie Underwood, well then it's the year for a Rocker guy. :) This past weeks performances weren't enjoyable. Quite boring actually and nobody sounded good. I will agree that it wasn't Lisa's time to go home. I don't think Ace is top 3 worthy, but that is probably how it will pan out. There are alot of girls out there who are in love with them. I am not really feeling Taylor Hicks. But I bet he will go pretty far in this competition.

re: American Idol Predictions

i've only seen dribs and drabs (mostly drabs) of this show when i'm at the gym but i have been pleased to see paris bennett navigate some difficult material. katherine mcphee is so vegas for me.

re: American Idol Predictions

I actually had Ace pegged for the ole "go home" this week, because I couldn't get over his cheesy "let me show you my scar" antics. Ick. Lisa was my second pick to go home. I liked her a lot in the beginning, but she's been off key lately, and a bit boring.

McPhee - she's very pretty, and she sings well. But she is consistently quite boring, and I think she needed that wake up call.

Next week, I think Bucky is safe - because he does country well. Ace is at risk more than anyone else, methinks.

re: American Idol Predictions

Maybe Chris will really shake things up this week: instead of taking any song and finding the 90's nu metal cover of it, maybe he'll sing Johnny Cash's version of Nine Inch Nail's 'Hurt.'
#840

re: American Idol Predictions

Yeah, Bucky and Pickler will be safe. Bucky is not great, but I like him a whole lot better than Kellie and Ace.

I love Chris, but I'm gonna laugh if he does a Creed-style country tune.

I bet one of the ladies will do "I Will Always Love You" and claim they are doing the Dolly Parton version but really just want to do Whitney.

re: American Idol Predictions

I still like McPhee, but am glad she got this kick in the butt. I am very frustrated that she and Elliot are the best singers, but neither are very good performers. McPhee is almost getting smarmy, and Elliot is getting more and more self concious.
Chris is incredibly uninteresting to me. He may as well sing the same song next week that he's sung every other week til now.

re: American Idol Predictions

Johnpopa - LOL. You may be right! I actually like the Johnny Cash cover of NIN...

xxnewgirlxx - you are so right about "I Will Always Love You." So true, so true.

Actually, it's pretty hard for this group to mess up country, because it's really quite a versatile genre with lots to choose from. Although, I think Ace will manage to screw up.

re: American Idol Predictions

I'm not a big fan of modern country, but I love Cash, Parton, Cline, etc.

In the vein of Ace's literal "scar" show last week, maybe he'll sing "Ring of Fire" and actually use fire as a prop.

From Bitter Waitress:

Location: Los Angeles
Celebrity: Kellie Pickler

Okay, this girl was with 5 other people, a couple of which I recognized as American Idol contestants and the others I didn't recognize. She was mouthy and condescending and just all around bitchy. She bitched at me because we didn't have the right bottled water, and then she sent her food back. On top of that, a crappy tip.

It made me laugh. re: American Idol Predictions

re: American Idol Predictions

I'm jumping in here a little late, but who the hell is voting for Bucky? I just don't get it. And Taylor, am I the only one who doesn't like him? I think he's talented, but the thought of listening to a whole CD of his.....ugh. My favorite is Chris....though he does need to show some versatility (in more ways than one...just kidding...one can dream) but actually he does have a good voice in my opinion.
#847

re: American Idol Predictions

There is NO way Ace makes it past this next week. It just can't happen. I like Elliot and Chris. I wish Elliot would win but I think Chris is going to be the one to take it this year. I was just saying today how Elliot is real good....but he seems to get forgotten. He needs to have a performance that will make people remember he is on the show.

re: American Idol Predictions

Taylor-bleh. Although it might just be the song/theme.

Mandisa started off shaky as hell, but got better towards the end.
