This week

I'm still not sure if they report the voting accurately. They may want to keep Katherine so that it isn't all guys.

Apparently, Kellie is in trouble with the producers....

What for? I know they were going to talk about it on the 10:00 news, but I didn't feel like watching.

The production company apparently manages all 12 of the finalists until they're done with the summer tour; so they're in control of them for a few more months, even though some have been eliminated. The only two exempt from that rule are Paris and Lisa, because as minors, they can choose not to accept the management. Anyway, at her homecoming celebration, Kellie sang, and that's not allowed, because every appearance has to be cleared with the production company. She also cut her hair off, which they don't like either.

Elliott's f***in unbelievable. That's all I have to say.

This week

Haha. But it's true, cabaret. He was fantastic tonight!
Anyone know next weeks' theme yet? When do they start the three-song nights?

This week

If past seasons are any indicator, the three-song nights start next week, and the theme would be as follows:

1 song of the contestant's choosing
1 song the judges have chosen for the contestant
1 song Clive Davis (guest judge for the night) has chosen for the contestant

Thanks, BG. For some reason I remember 3 songs not coming around until final 2. I think I'm going crazy...but thanks, again.

Just watched. I miss All Shook Up.

This week

Ok, noone even mentioned Priscilla Presleys face. What was up with the "Joker from Batman" look? I'm disappointed (and very surprised) that noone brought that up.

I thought that was his daughter...Lisa Marie Presley...either way, looks like they have the same surgeon as Michael Jackson.

Isn't Priscilla closing in on 70? Thankfully there were no close-ups.

I missed all but the last 15 minutes of the show last night!! Thank god for this thread so I can "catch" up!

This week

I've been rooting for Kat because she is talented and has the best female voice this season (whoever said she's flat all the time, I beg to differ.) LAST night, however, she was pretty bad. Two weak performances. Last week she redeemed herself with her second number. Every week I ask the tv screen to stop riffing and just sing, but she tries to do too much like last nite and cant make it. Her breathing was off on the second number, and both arrangements were terrible.
Elliot is a wonderful singer and he easily won the night. He sings rings around everyone else. Taylor did fine, but didnt wow me, and I couldnt be more tired of Chris and his fake vibrato. Sunglasses...uhg!

Elliot - 9
Taylor - 7
Chris - 5
Kat - 4

This week

My opinion, Elliot is fugly and will never be a commercial success. Taylor is spastic and will never be a commercial success. Chris and Katherine could be commercial successes and should be the final two.

This week

Really? I think Chris would have the shortest shelf life of any of the four left because he's a one trick pony. It's a genre of music that makes him appealing which was evidenced by last night. If he can't "rock out" then he is extremely boring to me and even his rocking out is wearing thin. I'm hoping Chris pulls a Bo this year and ends up losing despite the almost fanatical way that Fox has pushed him.

Kat and Elliot are both talented and have good singing voices, so they'll always be out there doing something. I think Taylor will always be viable because he can always go to Vegas and do his schtick there.

This week

Also, I thought it was funny this morning that tHe local modern rock station's morning DJ's have been drooling all over Chris this season and they had a caller this morning who was like, "You guys just spent 10 minutes making fun of Fantasia, Reuben, and several other Idols for their quote unqoute "music careers" and you seriously want us to believe you're going to play this guy's music if he wins?"

"Isn't Priscilla closing in on 70?"

She's got 9 years yet. She'll be 61 May 24.

This week

dialidol.com is predicting that Chris is going home tonight with Kat running a very close second.
#1595

This week

From worst to best:

Katharine: That was just painful. Her first "medley" was laughable. It was like an amusement park show. And "Can't Help Falling In Love" was just blah. And she overdid it towards the end. I love Katharine, but this was a terrible performance.

Taylor: His vocals were OK on "In the Ghetto". I'm just not a fan of his voice in general. But "Jailhouse Rock" showed why I'm not a fan. It was soooo ridiculous and pointless. His "wooing" and "Soul Patroling" and eye rolls and ticks are just plain annoying.

Chris: The two songs he did are my two favorite Elvis songs. He was fantastic on "Suspicious Minds" and even though "A Little Less Conversation" was a little bland, I could see that he was goig for the low-toned Elvis approach with his own flavor at the end.

and the best of the night...

Elliott! Let's face it, Elliott has the best voice of the remaining men. I don't care if he's not a pretty boy. Neither is Taylor. He's damn talented. He took two lesser known Elvis songs and hit them out of the park. He's just awesome.

I know he will most likely get the boot tonight, but it will be a real shame to see him go, esp after this performance.

*EDIT* Looking at dialidol makes me think Chris may be the big shocking exit this season. I'd be sad, but Chris is one of those performers that may do better without the win.

Oh...and the highlight was Priscilla. What a Gorgon! I was worried her face would slip off and we'd see what was underneath!

...and I giggled during In the Ghetto thinking of Ray Romano singing it on his show....I liked his version better than Taylor's, I think.

Does Priscilla have braces? Maybe it seemed that way, since she barely could move her lips.

I'm curious as to how Lisa Marie is looking these days. They didn't even show her, did they?
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson
