American Idol - You Be The Judge

Posted: 3/14/07 at 11:52pmThe bottom 3 were Brandon, Sanjaya, and the bald guy (I forget his name). Brandon was sent packing, and deservedly so. At least Sanjaya didn't forget his lyrics. Anyone know what the theme is going to be for next week? The show ran over and my TIVO cut out right after they announced Brandon was out. And let's cut Miss Ross a little slack. She's only about 103. She's more than proven herself over the years.

Phil! That's badly's name. Thank you, brdlwyr! And yes, I agree. There's something very creepy about him. I'd like to see him go next.

I think Diana Ross is in her 60's
Phil had a weird look on his face when he found out he's staying. almost like it was a chore to go back and sit down. WTF?

It's still a crime against humanity and an insult to anyone who can carry a tune that the likes of Tranjaya even got put through to Hollywood let alone get to the top 24 and now this...careful America, one more week and he's in the top 10 and that means he goes on the IDOL TOUR...yikes!!

Posted: 3/15/07 at 10:02amChris Sligh is most definitely my favorite, and he just had an album released with his band, i don't know how the idol producers let that happen... and i'm so ready for gina to go...

I liked Brandon in the beginning, but lately he's been too theme-park karaoke-ish. I'm not surprised he went home.
Now Sanjaya can't sing, but he's adoreable and he's definitely getting the sympathy vote. I knew he wouldn't be sent packing.
Ms. Ross, a little pitchy in spots, dawg! But, I'll cut her some slack. She is a legend after all, and has more than proven herself as a legit performer!

Phil is one of those people who just, shouldn't be bald.
And, Sanjaya better be gone soon.
I'm only good at being young

Posted: 3/15/07 at 11:59amThey played a clip of Sanj singing on the View today and Rosie was mentioning how bad he was.

I didn't read through the thread so I don't know if any of these things have been said already.
A lot of Indians are probably voting for Sanjaya too. He needs to go. I don't care how "sweet" or smiley he is. This is a singing competition.
Or actually I want him to stay on so I can see what weird hairstyle he has the following week.

Posted: 3/15/07 at 12:57pmNow I do not think that he should be there but I really feel bad for Sanjaya. He's knows that he is there because of Vote for the Worst. You could see the look on his face when he found out that he was safe last night. He knows that no one thinks he should be and he is constantly getting slammed in the media over something he has no control over. I think that when he finally does go it will probably be a relief for him.

Feel bad for him? Hell no. I feel bad for those who never even got the shot and can sing rings around him. I sing with an awesome girl who camped out for three days only to get the boot during the 'wrist band' round and she is a stunning vocalist and is super cute and has stage presence out the b*tt.
It's positively madding!

Of course I feel bad for those people too. That goes without saying. I'm just saying that I feel bad for him because he has to live with the knowledge that he is there and no one thinks he should be. That would suck. He's just a kid.
Better singers than all of the past winners have passed over by the preliminary judges so they could put through freaks and have people to redicule and make fun of.
I wonder when they will learn that it would a lot more interesting if everyone that was passed through was a stunning vocalist and America has to choose between 24 dynamic singers instead of on two or three in the whole lot.

I don't feel bad for him. Look at the international exposure he's getting. Perhaps he will be discovered for some other line of work. You never know. Many of the non-winning AI contestants have gone on to careers in the entertainment business without singing. I see them all over the place.
Please-17 and this famous! What do you think these contestants want? Fame.

Well, it's not like Sanjaya was atrocious in the early rounds. Much like Antonella, he was pretty good in the first auditions and I thought deserved his shot in Hollywood. It's a shame that he hasn't been able to prove himself at all since they became the Top 24.
I never really liked Brandon but I thought he was miles better than Sanjaya, missed lyrics or not.

Yes, Sanjaya is famous at 17, however he is famous for being the worst. I doubt that's what he had in mind when he entered this competition. People generally want to be famous for being good at something, not the worst.
