If they put Howard Stern on there - I won't watch another AI. I despise that creature.

I'm liking Ellen so far as a judge!

I liked Ellen tonight. She was honest and she wasn't too harsh. I'm also glad she didn't bring any girlpower against Simon like Kara and Paula did by putting bad people through to make him mad.
I'm so glad they cut that "cancer survivor" guy. He thought he was the $h!t last night. He thought he was going through for sure.
EDIT: His name is Justin Williams. I couldn't think of it before.

I'm glad he was cut too. He was SO CREEPY. $20 that guy's a date-rapist.
Ellen surprised me! The judges seemed to mesh well, so I hope all those reports of them fighting aren't true.
Ellen surprised me, too, jag. I thought she would be useless comedy relief but she had actual constructive things to say.
I just love that guy with the giant glasses that sang the Paula Abdul song. He's my favorite at this time. I have no idea what his name is.

FINALLY this season is starting to get good!!
I found the auditions sooo hard to get through, but I am OBSESSED with Andrew Garcia and Didi Benami's performances last night.
Although Andrew's was veeeery very Kris Allen (I found it so funny that Kara name dropped Adam there instead of Kris haha- Adam IS super creative and awesome, but that performance screamed Kris). So as fantastic as it was, I kind of felt like I'd heard it before.
But Didi, omg. FLAWLESS. So, so amazing. And I don't generally tend to get so gushy over female vocalists, but seriously, I adore her voice. She did not need that sob story from the auditions at ALL. Her voice is mooore than enough to sale her through to the finals!
Other standouts were Janell (the one who sang American Boy), Casey James (though his guitar skills are probably better than his voice, but I love his style), and Crystal (doesn't quite have the charisma of the others, but her voice is great).
So yeah, I am officially excited about this season now!! :) I still miss last season for its stylistic diversity (so many of the great contestants this year have that wholesome singer/songwriter types, and there's no really unique contestants stylistically that we've seen so far), but there's definitely no lack of talent!
I wish I had a favorite but so far no one stands out for me.
I don't have a favorite yet either, but that Jareb Liewer sure is perdy!
I find Jareb Liewer annoyingly cocky and watching him perform in the group competition made me uncomfortable. I thought he was going to bite the head of the microphone.
While I am on the subject, I'd like to see everyone in that group, including Toderick Hall get the boot. I think that even if any of them make it to the top 24 I don't think they will receive the votes necessary to sustain them. They looked like such jerks trash talking the other group.
I am not thrilled that Toderick Hall made it through.
What a jerk! I hope America remembers what an @$$#ole he was during group day.
I think the Idol producers are bastards for what they did to Angela Martin. There are at least two girls amoung the top 12 they chose that aren't ready for the competition and could have come back another year. This was Angela Martin's last year of eligiblity.

I heard Angela was on Ellen the other day and that they are getting her a record deal and Kara is writing a song for her?
I just read that too.
Sounds like they are trying to make up for the fact that they know they screwed her.
Hopefully this will work out for her.
I think they were afraid maybe she'd be cut too early for anything to happen for her and that's why they didn't put her through and just gave her a record deal?
Lacey singing "Landslide" was easily the worst performance I have ever seen on this show.
I loved the girl who sang that song by Chris Isaacs. . As Ellen said, I was transported by the mood she created. I'd love to hear it again.
I have one thing to say about all the "strong girls" from "the best group we've ever had" -- yawn. Whichever judge said it was a parade of poor man's Adeles (I paraphrase) was dead on.
I'm almost done watching this episode and I can say at least 2/3 of these girls actually SUCK. I'm suffering through a horrendous version of one of my favorite songs, WICKED GAME right now.
