Posted: 1/26/10 at 11:26pmWell apparently according to all the gossip outlets Ellen is already irked by the Idol hosts. They seem to run on their own time and since none of them have other jobs they are pretty lackadaisical about showing up and have no problem keeping hopefuls waiting. Ellen on the other hand has another show to do so she cant be wasting time. I guess pill popping Paula might have been a better fit.

Posted: 1/26/10 at 11:46pmI didn't know what to think about tonight. Is it bad that I'm looking forward to the Jonas kids being a judge tomorrow? I wonder if Disney will allow him to say anything "mean".

I guess Erich Bergen really was on! Here's what he said on his Twitter:
"To those wondering if I was on American Idol tonight, I was. However, due to height restrictions, I did not make it to Hollywood."
He can't be serious about a height restriction, can he?

What's with the guest judges being so freaking snarky?? Avril and Katy seemed like a couple of obnoxious twats as far as I am concerned.
And did the judges REALLY have to fly in on a helicopter???

I have to admit that I liked the fact that Katy Perry was ignoring the backstories. Her line, "This isn't a Lifetime movie" was spot on.
Reminder to all that NPH is guest judge tonight.

I thought that Avril Lavign was useless as a judge. She gave no useful feedback. She was being biotch for most of the time.
I think her decision to pass on the Danny Gokey 2.0 was based on a personal prejudice against him being a music pastor.
Katy Perry wasn't much better but not as bad.

Weren't they two different people? I thought the pastor had longer hair, and was bigger. Gokey 2.0 was, well, Gokey.

I'm not sure who you are referring to. I was referring to the the big guy who was a music pastor. The only similarity to Hokey Gokey was the fact that he too was a music pastor. I didn't notice anyone else.

VFTW has a post up saying that the latest rumor is that the producers are trying to push through a, for lack of a better term, homely lot of guy contestants this year to tip the scales in favor of a female winner, so perhaps that did Bergen in.
The queen for a day sob stories seem more obnoxious than ever this year. That stand by me guy was high school talent show adequate. These contestants would seem more in place asking Ty Pennington to build them a house.

I'm still not loving any of the contestants so far. Last year, it was Adam Lambert from the get-go, but this year...I think Tyler Grady is adorable, but I don't really know about his voice.
I loved Katy Perry telling Kara that "This is not a lifetime movie," though. Those sob stories make me can sometimes make me dislike a contestant, no matter how good their voice is.

The narratives were a bit obnoxious! A few good voices.
I thought Katy was funny and gorgeous!

Ah, and now leukemia. Leave no disadvantage uncovered.
I agree, Stockard! He was definitely constructive.

Dexter Ward was killing me.
"Let the gains begin."
Did anyone else notice that Dexter had a cold sore coming on.
