re: American Idol this Week

Hasn't it been said that they mostly comment on the dress rehearsal performances unless something goes terribly awry?

Yeah, Paula rarely says anything helpful.

Absolutely, SNL. Spot on.

Archuleta has a naturally beautiful voice. He's shy and adorable and I want to hug him. But I think he's not ready, whereas Cook is. He also has a good voice and is a compelling performer. Much more ready than Porkchop. I do think they deserve to be final two, though.

re: American Idol this Week

oh yeah, lets talk about the downfall of the group number.

I remember back in the day giggling at the group numbers, but I look back now and recognize how awesome they are compared to whats been happening in the last few seasons, but this year especially. Yuck.

Archuleta does have a very nice voice, but it needs to mature.

Haha, the tour is going to be intriguing.

re: American Idol this Week

Poor Jason. He won't be going back to Hempville. He'll be going back to College Station, Texas.

re: American Idol this Week

I wouldn't be surprised if they just scrap the group numbers next season. The audience has been punished with an endless string of discordant tones every week; the producers must be taking notice.

I doubt it. He'll probably settle in Venice beach.

That tour, ew. That will be a hot mess.

re: American Idol this Week

How in the world would they kill time if they did that? Montages?
#585

re: American Idol this Week

They could cut the results shows down to half an hour at least. No more phone calls or boring awkward banter with the guest either.

re: American Idol this Week

I still don't feel I know anything about the contestants. In the old days we would get to know them more and more every week.

I suppose that ended when that one red-headed crooner got death threats.

re: American Idol this Week

We seem to only get to know them now when they get to go home during top 4 week. Will they even do that this year?

re: American Idol this Week

Yeah, they will.

I can just imagine Archuletas. All of SLC will show up.

I predict David Cook's visit will be bittersweet. re: American Idol this Week

re: American Idol this Week

Cook freakin' rocks, but I don't want him to win.
I've said it before.
He needs to come in second.
I liked how they had the final two sing before the elimination. They need to start doing that.

re: American Idol this Week

yeah, you are probably right.

I hope they can get his brother out to the finale. If not, he will be front and center at the hometown viewing party.

re: American Idol this Week

I do want him to win, because I think he could actually be successful, in the vein of Kelly and Carrie, and not release a tepid album like Ruben, Taylor, or Fantasia. You never know, though - people might only be interested in hearing him sing covers rather than original music. I think he truly deserves it though.

re: American Idol this Week

I can just imagine Archuletas (hometown visit). All of SLC will show up.

That is really the reason they pulled those 400+ LDS kids out of that compound in Texas, so they could ship them off to David Archuleta day in SLC.

PEACE.

Calvin, when isn't Jason in Hempville? He's a 24-hr a day resident!

re: American Idol this Week

I actually dont watch the results shows because I hate all of the filler, but if you want painful, watch Dancing with the Stars' results show...talk about filler! Still, they have great numbers and will never shorten them.

The worst offender of all, imo, at least this year, was The Biggest Loser. Two hours each week, even with only 4 contestants! With fully acted commercials for products like sugarless gum and ziplock bags. You really needed to be able to fast forward to get through the crapola.

I actually admire Idol's restraint by keeping it to an hour each night.

re: American Idol this Week

Ah, to return to the good old days when they were usually only half-an-hour...

re: American Idol this Week

Luscious's post has to be a joke. No one would seriously say those inane things.

I agree David A. isn't ready for a career. I'm still not sure if he wants one. He looks sad even when he tries to smile. Paula said something to that effect to him and he still couldn't cheer up.

re: American Idol this Week

This is not a singing contest. It's vote for the cutest. David A has a good singing voice but his speaking voice annoys the hell out of me! This next week will be interesting because it's usually the week that one of the favorites gets voted off- like David C or David A. I think Syesha is a great performer and she can definitely out sing Jason! Should be intersting! Oh and P.S.- please- someone stop those girls from swaying their hands in the front- it is SO ANNOYING and it blocks the performers!

re: American Idol this Week

**SPOILERS FOR TONIGHT:**

So. Tonight David C is going to be singing Baba O'Riley by The Who https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2KRpRMSu4g. And, as long as he cuts it down right (which I'm thoroughly convinced he will as great arrangments are his niche), it is going to be EPIC!! re: American Idol this Week I was SO exastatic when I heard that he was doing it.

he shall also be doing Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran, which should be awesome as well re: American Idol this Week

But I'm most phsyched for Baba O'Riley

Other spoilers for tonight to be found here https://photos.tmz.com/galleries/idol_top_4_perform, if anyone's interested :)

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
