If David C. wins, the show isn't fixed.

If David A. wins, he'd better fire the dad and come out of the closet already.

I am for Cook too, but I have a hunch the producers may try to set-up David A. for the win. The video of him at home was the first time we saw any personality. He is talented, but is very predictable and boring. I wonder what the "idol" single will be that they both have to sing, and if they will allow Cook to play with the arrangement. The singles they typically pick always fit only one of the idol finalists and that is who wins. They are also cheesy ballads that would most likely fit David A. better than our Cookie. I think they did that song writing contest again, so I doubt they will have 2 different songs for them like they did with Rueben and Clay.

Don't waste you time voting, folks. Whomever they decide is the winner, will win.

I agree Jane. I haven't voted since season 2 when a friend that works at a local radio station told me about an American idol promo photo that was sent before the top 10/12 performed. Everyone in the picture was basically standing in the order they went off the show. i doubt that was just a coincidence.

So glad it's the Davids.

David Cook better win. I've never voted on American Idol before, but I think I will vote on this one.

Predictable top 3 results, but that's TOTALLY cool with me- I've been rootin' for a battle of the Davids ever since Michael and Carly left! :P (ideally it would have been a David C/Michael finale, but.. whatev Michael's still incredible and it's known)

Anyway, so can we discuss how David C's going home package made me get a bit teary eyed? he's SO SWEET omg it's just ridiculous. I mean ALL of the going home packages were super sweet (I actually quite loved David A's too- it was nice to see him show some emotion other than just being nervous! hehe. And he really does seem like a very sweet kid), but it's just David C's really got me for some reason. He's so REAL.

and yeah. I shall be voting for Cook. A LOT. a LOT a lot.

And just to send out this request nice and early:
If you ARE rooting for David C to win, PLEEEEASE PLEASE PLEASE vote!! I know it's just a silly reality show, I know it's not that big a deal in the long run if he doesn't win, but... I don't know. I REALLY want him too now, because I think that HE really wants it! So even if it's only a couple of times, if you really care about it, PLEASE actually pick up the phone and vote! Even like... 5 minutes can make a pretty darn decent difference :)

(I guess that same thing could go for Archuleta fans too- it's just I think David A already kind of has the upper hand just because he's been slated to win so long, so that's why I'm worried about David Cook. But if we all vote, it WILL happen!)

Yeahh the show might be fixed, but... I feel like it's probably mostly fixed only in the sense that they greatly and obviously try to sway the votes in one direction. If it's actually rigged, then there's not a whole lot we can do, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try so that if it ISN'T rigged (which it obviously SHOULDN'T be) we'll be successful!

Does it cost anything to vote? Does AI make any money on the voting?

If they do,, they have to be laughing their heads off. All the votes mean nothing.

I got a laugh from David Cook's home visit footage - at one point he started to tear up, and as he leaned forward to wipe his eyes, you got a great shot of the elaborate comb-over swirl on the top of his head.

I think Cook will win. He better.

More people will rally against the tween-voters.

If not, it will be the most predictable season of Idol, ever. The producers wanted him to win from his first closeup shot.

And what was with that Producers-choice sabotage on Syesha. 'Hit Me Up'? Really!?

If I were her I would have been like, "Paula! You're right. I didn't shine, and it didnt show off my vocals cause, I. Didn't. Pick. It. The producers picked the penguin song 'cause they want me kicked off the show! Belieeeeeve this! *finger waves*" That would have got MAD press and people would have voted for her.

Wow... I was too busy getting teary eyed because that moment was so SWEET. And bittersweet too, given what's goin' on with AC and all. Honestly, we're really going to harp on his hair at a poignant moment like that?? :)

Simon told Blender magazine that David Cook deserves to win. Simon's comments carry a lot of weight with viewers. Hopefully he won't be to mean to little David so he gets the sympathy vote on top of the tween vote. I wonder if the producers are still leaning toward David A. to win or if they will be happy with either of them winning and don't set either of them up to fail.

Please, the votes are definitely not fixed. They count the votes and the one with the least gets sent home. You think the producers are stupid enough to risk everything by not counting the votes?

That's not to say that they don't try to manipulate and sway the voters towards the ones they like and away from those they don't. They barely even hide the fact that they do that.

But, still, they count the votes. But the voting system is effed up anyway, since anyone can vote as many times as they like.

I'm sure they count the votes. But I'm not sure they report them accurately. Where have you seen any proof of that? As far as I know, they have never mentioned any accounting firm or anyone else who monitors the voting.

I still maintain they decide who wins and who leaves.

Well, you are at least able to muster up some excitement about the season. That's something I can't do!

I liked all of the journeys home, especially the Porkchop's. He is such a little Carebear with all of his "goshes" and tears made of holy water. The thing is, I think he's 100 % sincere. I like the kid and I want to protect him from the evil triangle of his father, Nigel Lythgoe and Clive Davis. I think Cook has it in the bag, though. Which is fine. It was also fun seeing the clip of Syesha saying how she wants to share her gift with the world. Thanks, Syesha!

Why are the judges picking songs that are so dated? Dan Fogelberg? Will the special guest musicians for the finale be Air Supply and 10cc?

Forget the results...how about what disaster Fantasia was? She looked and sounded terrible.

Her back-up singers sang more that she did. She just screamed. Is she afraid of a little melody?

I don't think so, Tom. She was in the Color Purple on broadway. re: American Idol this Week

All of you David Cook fans should be preying he DOESN'T win. I bet he is! I'm sure he's dreading all of those cheesy group numbers he'll have to perform all summer long on the AI tour. And if he wins he'll be contractually obligated to the show and the producers that much longer. Don't get me wrong, I really like David Cook; he's very talented and I'm glad he made the final two. I've been rooting for a battle of the David's finale all season. But let's face it; David A. is what American Idol is all about. Would his winning be predictable? Yes. But in the months and years to come, I'd rather watch David A. grow up than watch David Cook go bald.

"what makes you think he'll go bald?"

Because he already is. His cotton candy comb-over is only trumped by... well... Donald Trump.

Now piss off, tazzy. Go start a Vote For McCain thread.

Taz, in todays Post, they had a chart comparing the two Davids. One of the categories was physical feature. They listed David A's sleepy eyes, and David C's teased up, colored, combover!

David Cook couldn't sing his way out of a paper bag lol. I'm hoping David A as he is clearly the most talented and he sings the best type of music, balads, not that nasty rock music.
