It is becoming more and more common that survivors are not allowed to bury their loved one's remains if he commits a terrible act; The Columbine and Newtown killers, John Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer were all buried secretly to avoid this sort of carrying on.
Shame.

Stick him in an unmarked grave in a Potter's Field somewhere. Allow the family to have whatever religious service they want to before hand and arrest the mother as soon as she sets foot on American soil for the felony charges against her.
I am all for burial at sea as well. Making such a fuss over this is giving this guy way more attention then he is worth.

Posted: 5/8/13 at 3:03pmIt seems like the people protesting his burial are the ones making all the fuss. If it wasn't for that he probably would have been in the ground by now and none of us would have even known about it.

I don't know. Without the protestors you'd probably still have various city officials all over the country saying he wasn't welcome.

According to a segment I heard on NPR the other day the mortician who took the body is having trouble even finding a cemetery that would allow the burial to take place. You are right, Eris, it does go beyond the protesters.
Side note, that I learned from the same NPR segment, workers in the cemetery where Lee Harvey Oswald is buried are forbidden to give visitors directions to the grave site. They won't deny that it is there, but they won't help you locate it on the grounds if you are looking for it.

"Tamerlan Tsarnaev I would assume."
Sure, I guess, if the revenge is meant against the family.

I believe I read his country won't take him because they deemed he is a terrorist. (I may not be wording this well.
I agree: he needs to be buried somewhere, and burial is for the mourners. His daughter has the right to someday, should she so chose, visit his grave.

Posted: 5/8/13 at 4:12pmBut I got the impression from what I've read that many cemeteries are refusing to take him due to fear of protestors/vandalism

I think Kad was saying that whatshisname getting all this attention is like him getting revenge on us (America).
That's what he always wanted....attention.
More to the point: will Westboro picket if he actually gets a funeral?

Last I heard cemetaries all over the country and in Canada have come forward to offer space but officials in those cities have nixed any plans.
With the widow, seemingly, out of the picture, it comes down to what the mother wants and what the uncle wants. The uncle wants him buried in Massachusetts and the mother wants him in Russia.

No, he's a hero to them. Maybe we can get them to pay for the funeral.

He really doesnt deserve any accomodations. I really dont want my tax dollars going to this, bad enough we had to pay his welfare.
his poor daughter... ill bet she doesnt want to mourn someone who killed innocent people and beat her mother up.
#46An Open Letter on Burying Tamerlan Tsarnaev
Posted: 5/8/13 at 4:15pmI also heard that there was someone (in Vermont, I think), that offered the grave next to his mother, since his mother was deeply religious and believed in forgiveness and wouldn't mind.
