In my fruitless hunt for an episode of Law & Order this evening, I ran across a promo/music video for Disney's next stab at world domination. High School Musical's Corbin Bleu stars in "Jump In" a musical about a competitive Jump Rope team. Yes. Premiering in January.
You have been warned....
wait what?
That sounds HORRIBLE.
Corbin Bleu is hot as hell, though.

I've known about that for 2 months. It looks horrible and it's going to be the next High School Musical just because he's in it! It's crap.

This makes me laugh. I see it failing miserably.
I watched High School Musical for the first time ever the other night--and it wasn't as bad as I expected. It wasn't amazing, but it was entertaining.
The very end (after the credits) made me laugh very hard.
I think we've all been crying out for a musical set in the cuthroat world of competitive jump-roping! I can't wait to hear the inspirational ballad the coach sings to the kid who just can't seem to "get in" during double dutch.

And yet again Walt Disney is turning in his grave (he must be dizzy by now)...
This is what his company has become

It's not a musical. It's just a TV movie.

Not a musical? They had a Music Video of Mr. Bleu performing a song from the movie. Perhaps it was "the Love Theme from 'Jump In.'"
It also stars Keke Palmer from AKLEEAH and THE BEE.
She also has a song from the movie out.
Its a nice R and B, rap mix.
Oh boy. I didn't think High School Musical was awful. It was cute for what it was supposed to be. However, a national tour and spin off movies are a bit much.

I have done some reaasearch. I can't tell if it's a musical, but it does have a full score of songs by some fo the HSM songwriters and songs are performed by the cast, Including "Push It (to The Limit)" by Corbin Bleu, which I saw last night.
The plot is apparently entirely different than HSM: In HSM the father wanted his son to focus on Basketball but he'd rather perform in his High School Musical. IN "Jump In" (It's fourth title apparently) the father wants the son to focus on boxing, but he'd rather perform in his High School's Double Dutch Tournament.
I still wear my double dutch varsity letter proudly
How is that any different than HSM?
I'm sure the choreographer is going to have a blast with the jump ropes.
I saw an advertisment for HSM: The Concert earlier. Isn't Zac supposed to be filming Hairspray? Or is that over? I'm out of the loop.
I saw something on the Disney Channel about the HSM Tour, and Drew Seely (the ACTUAL Troy-he sang about 95% of the score) is taking Zac's place.
Thank gawd. He's prettier than Zac, too!
Is it bad that I have no idea who Corbin Bleu is? I thought that was some kind of chicken stuffed with swiss cheese and Canadian bacon.
That's him Calvin, stuffed chicken.
I love saying, "bleu".
The way the second sylable just goes to nothing makes me all tingly.
Bleu. Bleu. Bleu.
Love it.
Ah, jailbait. No wonder.
"Thank gawd. He's prettier than Zac, too!"
What you really mean is this guy actually tames his eyebrows?
Eh...
They're both okay.
This sounds funny bad. But Keke Palmer was fantastic in AKEELAH AND THE BEE
I was watching TV with my younger sister and the music video came on. The movie isn't a musical, the music video is just to promote the movie. That's the vibe I got, anyway.

I'm glad Disney can't think of any plots besides the parent disapproving of their child's dreams.
I haven't seen anything about this, but Disney Channel does sometimes have music videos for their original movies. It doesn't necessarily make it a musical...
As for a good Disney Channel Musical, did anyone else like the Even Stevens musical episode? That was the last good Disney show...
