From the People section of the Denver Post this morning:
"Tom Cruise and his controversial religion Scientology are being blamed for a woman's death. A recent ad in the LA Weekly read: 'Thanks, Tom Cruise and the Church of Scientology, for your expert advice on mental health.' The ad referred to a woman killed by her 'scizophrenic son she was told to treat with vitamins instead of psychaitric care.'
The website referred to in the ad details the case of Jeremy Perkins, 28, who stabbed his mother to death. Perkins was a Scientologist and his mother was a church counselor.
A spokesman for the Scientology Celebrity Center didn't answer requests for comment."

Good lord...
We all knew it was bound to happen sooner or later.
Maybe I should pay Tom a visit when I've been off my meds. I'm sure it would be an enlightening experience for both of us

". . . flown out to Los Angeles to join Scientology's paramilitary Sea Organization."
Does anyone know anything about this, or even heard of it?
You guys, don't be upset. She gets a chance to return for earth for another cycle to try and become a matter-controlling Thetan now!

Am I the only one who's getting sinister chills from all this Scientology stuff? It's really creepy.

Le sigh. I hate work firewalls.
Can anyone share a bit of info that was in that link?

Bway - this pretty much answered my question -
"The Sea Organization is the actual nexus that controls the scientology empire. Sea Organization personnel are authorized to take over and control scientology organizations and to demote personnel, move bank accounts and run the corporation as if the SO personnel were employees or representatives of that corporation but they are not."

I am so sick of the Scientology b.s. about medication for mental illness. I take medicine for anxiety and depression and without it I don't think I would be able to live a normal life.
Wow. They're like the Halliburton/United States relationship.
Oh, here's my favorite part from that link:
"Sea Org members got exited about the OT3 discovery as the news spread. Hubbard was going to use the Mothership to escape from Earth. The ship was protected by atomic warheads. It awaited the return of a great leader, and there were rumors about a 'Space Org.'"
The more I learn about Scientology, the harder I laugh. Seriously, I think they ALL need be on medication.

My eyes are bleeding after reading that, skittles.
And, DramaDork, I totally agree. I take Paxil and when I am not on it, no matter how much I will myself to be better, I am completely depressed and anxious about every little thing. Some things CANNOT be fixed magically by vitamins.

I'm reading whyaretheydead.net, which asks, "Why are they dead, Scientology?" One man jumped to his death clutching the last $171 he had to his name, having given the rest to Scientology.
And there's a lot about L. Ron Hubbard's son Quentin... listen to this: "A few weeks later [in 1974], Quentin attempted suicide. As a result he was confined to isolation in his cabin for about three weeks..." Seriously? The whole thing makes me sick.
Why are they dead: Quentin Hubbard
Here's a great aritcle in Radar Magazine...

"While the church disputes ex-members’ accounts, the gospel goes (briefly) as follows: Seventy-five million years ago Xenu, the head of a galactic alliance of 76 planets, was confronted with an overpopulation problem. His solution was to freeze billions of beings, transport them to earth, deposit them near volcanoes, and vaporize them with hydrogen bombs. Their remaining 'thetans' — disembodied spirits — were captured and programmed with the false realities (including the major religions) that pervade the earth today. Some of these beings — 'body thetans' — have attached themselves to our bodies either singly or in clusters; Scientologists must contact, handle, and release them."
Come f--king on. I don't even believe in Jesus and I'm supposed to believe in that!?
Wow. Just...wow. That is the most bats**t thing I have ever heard.
And SorryGrateful: I take Paxil too! I honestly don't know where I would be without it.

Right on, Rose! Paxil Users Unite!
Who can even listen to someone as stupid as Tom Cruise anyway?
Scientology reminds me of the pods in Invasion Of The Body Snatchers

Speaking of those pods, I wish Mr Roxy was zipped into one!
Nice to see you have returned to your snotty sarcastic ways. I know you are a product of the pods - not one of the pods better efforts
Have a nice day
