He is a legend to me.
And a legend has passed.
You're absolutely right, Besty, and I hope everyone will forgive my silliness. It wasn't my original attention.
There's a wonderful obituary in today's NY Times, that addresses his popularity, the art world's conflicting views of his work, and his seeming conflicted view of himself.
"Christina's World" is one of the first paintings I remember fixing on as a kid. I nearly fainted the first time I saw it in real life.

This is my favorite work of his (obviously, this is a horrid representation.) The detail, movement and light-play he captured in the curtains - in WATERCOLOR - takes my breath away every time I look at it.

I adore cheap sentiment!
And what Blue Man Group does to Christina.
I love visiting the Brandywine Museum in PA.
Beautiful space and rich collections.
