I have tried NUMEROUS times to get into the classic series but I can't. It's just so boring to me and the Doctor is so unlikeable. But, I am a person in a VERY minor group.
I had an audio book of "Feast of the Drowned" and David does a really good job with everyone's accents. It's funny hearing him do rose. lol
Yeah, Netflix really helped when I needed to catch up on Doctor Who. Love Netflix!!!
I started mid-70s, Jon Pertwee was the Doctor in the episodes that my local PBS station was showing daily, with a complete episode arc on Saturdays 4-6 pm. Love Love LOVE the show!
Digital Spy has a nice interview with Bernard Cribbins:

It's been a week and I'm still digesting "The Waters of Mars." That ending was too much.
Spidey - they show classic Doctor Who on a PBS station here and I watch it sometimes. It's quite campy, and I too find it hard to get into it.
Now about that book ... might have to go find it.
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but I found this video on youtube and thought it was hilarious. It's what would happen if Rose told the Doctor that she was pregnant with his baby.

Watching the old Doctor Who clips on the BBC's youtube channel, some of them really have me interested in watching the old show. The clips with Tom Baker are funny " Care for a jellybaby?" and I like Jon Pertwee's Doctor. I also like the Fifth Doctor ( even though he usually NEVER has anything under control.)

BBCAmerica today confirmed the air dates of the final three specials.
Waters of Mars, December 19
The End of Time Part 1 December 26
The End of Time Part 2 January 2
All three air at 9 p.m., they will be unedited, and the latter two are airing ONE DAY after they air in the UK.
Good news, but also a bit sad, as we bid 10 a misty-eyed fairwell...
Here is some new footage from The End of Time. I am soo freaking excited for this. I just bought Beautiful Chaos yesterday and plan on reading it before the specials come on.

And I just love it when John Simm says " My name is the Master." *click.* I may be slowly crushing on the man. XP

Well, John Simm is hot. Don't blame you a bit, Spidey. (Though, uh, the Master? I really don't want to think about what his sex life entails. Sam's much less scary.)
LMAO. Not necessarily John Simm "The Master" but just John Simm
LOL, that reminds me of the first (?) time DT was on Graham Norton and they put that ad in that magazine and only got that one reply.

Does anyone know why Peter Cushing isn't considered one of the incarnations of the Doctor, even if he played him in two movies?
Found this on Amazon.co.uk -- have a tissue handy...

FYI, Tonight BBCAmerica is airing Journey's End, The Next Doctor and Planet of the Dead as the lead up to next week's premiere of Waters of Mars. Tonight's episodes will be cut to fit into the hour time slot, but WOM won't be cut in it's initial showing.
Fancy a Christmas greeting from the Doctor?
Merry Christmas from Doctor Who and BBC One
The Next Doctor and Planet of the Dead will also be on next Saturday before Waters of Mars and I believe that those will be the uncut versions. They're also showing "Inside the TARDIS" which the summary says will be a tribute to David Tennant's time as the Doctor.

The Cushing movies aren't part of the official continuity, Spidey - kind of like the first Casino Royale doesn't count as a Bond movie, so we don't usually say that David Niven played Bond.
I think that the "official" stance on the Cushing movies is that they take place in an alternate universe, or are based on a book that the companion Barbara Wright wrote. Cushing's "Doctor" is a human whose last name is Who, so he's actually referred to as "Dr. Who" the whole time. He just isn't the Doctor.
Interesting that they're showing the uncut versions next week, and I like the idea of the hour-long special salute to David.
Here's a link to another Holiday Greeting from the Doctor:

Plum - Thanks for the explanation. I was confused on that one
Kec - He is ADORABLE!
Thanks for psoting those links to the Christmas greetings---made my Christmas!!!
I am very bummed that I will miss part 2 of The End Of Time, as I will be in NYC that night. But I won't have too long to wait to get the DVDs!
