If someone uses the word anyways, it's an indication that they are a moron.
But, I could care less.

The three most commonly used phrases from a young teacher I know are:
"Anyways..."
"Not for nothin'..."
and
"Alls I know is..."
I want to punch her in the ovary every time she uses one.

I've also started hearing "pacific" instead of "specific", which doesn't even make sense.
I think that may be more of an accent thing though. There are times when I say "specific" but it only sounds like I'm saying "pacific" because I tend to speak rather quickly which is the norm for where I was raised.

What I HATE is when people say some form of "I want to come with." YOU DO NOT END A SENTENCE ON A PREPOSITION. With whom to do you want to go with - Me? Her? The dog? Uncle Teddy? Finish the damn sentence *blows steam out of nose*
Drives me crazy

ANYWAY.
And when did putting an 's' at then end of hell become acceptable?
Hells no! Hells yes! (I find it particularly offensive when it is typed)
Or starting every sentence with "wait".
Oh, the youth of America!

These are issues with more than the youth of America.

How about "for all intensive purposes"?
Reg, that one drives me nuts....although I'm pretty sure I used to think that's what it was when I was a kid.

Actually intensive purposes is not so bad.
For example:
"My purpose is to run the Boston Marathon next year, and I have and I have used intensive training toward that purpose"

Spider--Winston Churchill disagreed with you about prepositions. He liked them.
He sent this note to an editor who moved a preposition from the end of one of his sentences: "That is the sort of pedantry up with which I will not put!"

I kinda think anyways is cute.
Not that I'd ever admit that to y'all.

Posted: 7/29/09 at 8:48pmWhat I also don't understand is how people type or write the words lose or loose, when they really mean the other. Some Facebook quiz told me I was going to loose my virginity, not lose.
