I lived in a very tiny town. I think the first phone number I remember was telling the operator a number that included "9-9-W"
Hai Karate commercials
"And we helped!" (Shake n bake commercial)
black and white television sets with NO remote:
My dad bought our first color television just so we could
see the airing of The Wizard of Oz and experience the change from Kansas (b&w) to Oz (color).
Dark Shadows (Barnabas! Angelique!)
Roger Ramjet
Dobey Gillis (I was very little when this was on but apparently his name really interested me. I named our first dog "Dobie Gillis" and my parents went along with it.)
Peyton Place
Mr. Bubbles
Quisp AND Quake
Bat Masterson
Do-Bees and Don't Bees
Mystery Date (board game)
Barbie dolls with breakable heads (not rubber) and
a million wigs.
TV dinners with foil not plastic covering.

Wasn't the Honeycomb Hideout a treehouse or something? I remember the blonde kid with buck teeth and the goofy hat.
beacon1 - Yeah, I remember when blue diamonds were introduced to Lucky Charms. It was the first new marshmallow added to the original lineup.

"sambo's."
RobbO---I went to Sambo's recently! I think it's the only one left in the country. It's also the very first Sambo's Restaurant, and I believe is a historical landmark for that reason. It's in Santa Barbara, CA.
I ordered a Hungry Tiger breakfast, for old time's sake.
EDIT: They actually have a web site!

He helps to protect his friends under the sea
and that's where you will find DIVER DAN!
Just got the DVD of the handful of surviving shows. Man I was so in love with Diver Dan, I think my first "nocturnal emission" was during a dream of him.
