I was wondering if someone else maybe killed the teacher too? I need to re-watch it though.

Yes, earlier in the episode Norman hears her having a fight with someone on the phone. She is screaming at this person to stop following her and to leave her alone. I think we will learn that Norman may have witnessed the crime and went into his fugue state.

Just re-watched the finale. I think I will save this on my DVR so I can watch it again right before the new season starts since it's going to be such a long time.

First of all Emma is way cuter than Bradley. Second, who names a girl Bradley anyway? And for some reason I didn't remember what happened on the docks with the Sheriff. How could I remember the rest of the show and not remember that? I think I smoked too much pot in college.

SNAFU, good point. I hadn't thought about that. If it turns out Norman didn't kill the teacher but witnessed the crime, then the question becomes how did he get away from the killer himself? If that's the case, maybe the imagined "you know what you have to do" was simply him getting out of there....then maybe the killer/"Eric"? (name of the guy on the phone with the teacher)showed up but didn't see Norman if he was outside the house by then; Norman spots this guy going into/breaking into the house and ends up witnessing everything through a window but too late to do anything about it -- if he evene could have. I don't know, just some way that he could have been around to see it without the killer doing him in.

Or Norman really killed her and the phone call is to fake us out.

Could be either way I guess. Good to be kept guessing!

Her throat was slit pretty darned good. Wouldn't it really be whacked if it turned out the good therapist Dr. Kurata is this "Eric" person we heard on the phone with the teacher, and he used the samurai (?) sword we see displayed behind him in his office? I know, crazy talk, but on this show where people who seem sane/normal at first turn out to be crazy/psycho (the deputy for instance), maybe it's not too horribly farfetched a thought.

Just re-watched it and upon viewing Norma's talk with Norman about being abused by her brother, all she said was that it started when she was 13 and went on until the brother moved out. Nothing about how old the brother was at the start or end or her age when he left. So I suppose that could at least for now leave open the possibility of Dylan having an Uncle-Daddy.

Good to be left with more questions than answers with another season to come.

Edit to ask: Can anyone think of any significance there might possibly be to the poem written on the blackboard in the scene with the teacher? It was Robert Frost's "Fire and Ice."

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Well if she died by Norman's hand and Normma's vision was correct, didn't she die of fire? If she were killed by a gilted lover, couldn't that be considered being killed by hate and ice? It was merely a foreshadowing of the last scene.

Sorry, it was Norman's vision of Norma in the school teacher's home.

She appeared to Norman while the teacher was undressing with the door open and said she was doing it to seduce him, he rgued with her but she ended up saying "You know what you have to do." The next shot of him was walking down the street in the rain.

Oh, yeah, I remember that whole thing but I thought you meant something else when you said he had a vision. Yeah, I thought the mom meant that Norman had to kill her when she said you know what you have to do.

I was thinking that because of all the rejections he had from girls, that was what caused him to be a murderer of women. I know, too simple.

SNAFU, about "Fire and Ice" -- what you said makes sense. Thanks.

About the final image of this week's episode -- Poor (ha!) dead Miss Watson with her "B" necklace dangling from her gashed neck. Assuming that is her own initial (which would make sense), could she be the mysterious "B" whose love letters Bradley found in her dad's desk? Hmmm.

Also bit of trivia. Here's the text that flashes briefly on screen each episode between final frame and credits roll:

Based on characters from the novel "Psycho" by Robert Bloch and as portrayed in the theatrical film "Psycho"

See Jbara, right there is yet another reason I do't thick she died at Norman's hands. I don't think Norman is that ill yet.

Yes, it does seem too soon.

Here is another piece of season one trivia. At the bus stop in the first episode, the classical music on Norman's iPod is Beethoven's Eroica. In the film Psycho, Marion Crane finds a record of the same piece on a record player . So the segue on the show to tell viewers it is set in more current times (than previously hinted in the episode up to that point) gave a nod to the original film at the same time.

What I am finding interesting in this series, tough I still think it will be hard to maintain, is the respect they show for the mythology of the original movie. We already know the outcome. My morbid curiosity wants to know; "Who kills Norma?"
