JBaraFan, do you mean that Dylan's father could be Norma's brother? I'm not sure if the timeframe works but it'd make sense given their tense relationship.
I thought the season overall was very satisfying, it had its ups and downs like any series but when it was good it was really good. Vera Farmiga has found a role that takes full advantage of her incredible range, she is marvelous in the role from beginning to end and I love seeing her take control of a scene. Highmore is surprisingly captivating as Norman, it's just such an iconic role it could have easily veered into camp or he could have failed to capture Norman, but he does it and it's impressive as hell. The TWIN PEAKS feel of the show seals the deal for me, it's a cool approach to the show and they manage somehow to make it twisty and shocking without keeping any mystery going on for so long that it becomes frustrating.
As soon as Norman saw his mother I realized what the writers were about to do and loved it. It was somehow unexpected, or unexpected enough to be surprising but it made so much sense. They also were able to keep the audience wondering which of the three girls/women in Norman's life outside the house (Emma, Bradley, the teacher) would be his first kill.
