I agree that it's a misstep, but being a fan of her's for a while, I find it hard to just all of a sudden change my mind and boycott her. Especially considering that I don't know her nor her political views.

And why does appearing on one of the most-watched Christian televisino shows to promote your Christian album mean you are aligned with every one of that show's values? It doesn't. Life is not so black and white. I know mine isn't. Is yours/ Is everything you do in line with everything you preach and believe? I mean down to the most miniscule things. Do you believe yourselves to be nonjumdgemental, and yet judge others for their beliefs, cars, hairstyles, choice of partners? Start there and then go on.

We are all human. ALL of us. We ALL deserve tolerance. Not just homosexuals.

Honestly, you all need to have a switch taken to your palms!

Kristin's appearance on the 700 Club can be viewed as support for the views expressed on the television show. Is it possible, if not probable, that she does not, in fact, believe those things? Of course. But, in my humble yet learned opinion in regards to acting and promotion, it was probably not the wisest choice, knowing how a large portion of her 'fan base' would react. I, personally, would fire that publicist in a heartbeat...but that's just me.

But it's ASTONISHING (Sutton? Is that you?) how NO ONE is reading anyone else's posts on this subject. And if you are reading them, you are certainly not comprehending them. Sweet Jesus, people, R.I.F. Reading Is Fundamental!

And as for the whole 'I love the sinner, but I hate the sin,' concept...I say 'F*ck you, I have enough friends.'

And though I support anyone's right to free speech, if you really think that it's being close minded to rail against statements that Pat Robertson has made, then FINE...I'm close minded.

I guess I'm still waiting for the part where KC grabbed Pat Robertson's cheek and said "Baby, I LOVE what you said about the Homos! Just imagine, I had to do eight shows a week with those butt pirates, splattering AIDS blood all over back stage, making the baby Jesus puke! It's so good to be here with you decent, Jesus-loving fag haters!"

I don't think anyone on this board has said Pat Robertson is on the right track. I'd like to hear it straight from the Chipmunk's mouth-- what is it like to visit the 700 Club-- since I can't imagine I'll ever be invited.

Well I guess I will throw another log on this fire and then go to my reception at the Theatre Center....I decided to go to her website to see if there was any mention of her appearance or if it was being talked about on her chat boards. Nothing. On her news page her TV apearances are listed from April 1st through April 11th. The 700 Club appearance is not listed.

I don't have an opinion as to why it was left out of the listing....but I am sure others will...carry on!

She made a choice. Now her gay fans can make their choice. She's not stupid (and probably quite bright.) The theater community IS the gay community to a large degree. And she made a choice that she must've known would upset her fans.

I never would have thought we were just as hateful and closeminded as everyone else. I guess I always thought that as an open Broadway community we were touched by an extra light of happiness and tolerance and friendship. I guess I was wrong. I guess we are only here to attack one another because of the labels societies has put on us. I guess I should find another venue, one that is more friendly and accepting of everyone.

we SO already had this argument when it was rumored that she was singing at bush's inauguration.

she has views. you have views. we all have our own views. as a christian who ADORES my many homosexual friends, i know that you can both be christian and close with the gay community. this is what kristin does, and i admire and respect her for doing so.

It's not about being Christian. It's about going on one very particular Christian's television program to promote your album. One who has worked tirelessly to demean and devalue a certain percentage of the population.

My my my my my. The reflexes of 'I LOVE JESUS AND THE GAYS' is truly fascinating on this board. No one is saying you can't do both. But Pat Robertson certainly does NOT do both.
