BOYCOTT Kristin Chenoweth--she appears on The 700 Club?

Posted: 4/5/05 at 12:04pmrobbiej - I completely agree with you on your outrage towards the use of the English language, which is far more reprehensible (and more frequent) than the self-shilling antics of an ex-Galinda. That made my day! God bless you, robbiej.

I mean...Cheno goofed. Strange PR move. Somehow, we'll all recover from this horrifying news.
What I fear we'll never recover from is stupidity.

*scratches head*
I'm sure my mom and dad will be calling me about La Cheno any day now.
They love Pat Robertson and the 700 Club.
Too bad their son is responsible for 9/11.

There is a cure for ignorance for those who seek the antedote, but stupidity is the conscious decision of those who know better. There is no cure, only therapy.

Just wanted to post one of my favorite lyrics...by a Christian artist which may understandably be surprising to some of you...but she embodies much of what is missing in what I call the "squeeky wheel Christians"--the ones with the biggest platforms and who make the most noise, unfortunately. A detriment to those of us who serve the same God but detest the ridiculously hurtful things they say and do. This is by Nichole Nordeman.
Please Come
Oh the days when I drew lines around my faith to keep you out, to keep me in, to keep it safe.
Oh the sense of my own self-entitlement to say who’s wrong, who won’t be long, or cannot stay.
Cause somebody somewhere decided we’d be better off divided.
And somehow, despite the damage done He says come:
CHORUS:
There is room enough for all of us
Please come, and the arms are open wide enough
Please come, and our parts are never greater than the sum
This is the heart of the One who stands before the open door and bids us come.
Oh the times when I have failed to recognize how many chairs are gathered there around the feast.
To break the bread and break these boundries that have kept us
from our only common ground the invitation to sit down if we will come:
CHORUS
Come from the best of humanity
Come from the depths of depravity
Come now and see how we need every different bead on this same string.
Come.
CHORUS

If Nicole Nordeman believes in the sentiment of this song, I'm buying her album.
*gay boy dusts off his Crystal Lewis, 4Him and Point of Grace Cds* *Wonders if that dates him*

Uh..... "Come from the depths of depravity"--I certainly don't think that refers to gays, but i wouldn't bet my Ricky Martin CD's that she doesn't think it refers to me. We're all included under the umbrella (even the gays if they reform!) I'm not sure, but i'm old enough and smart enough to be suspicous.
Now, if this artist believes God loves me as I am and I don't need to change, then i'd give her a big non-sectarian smooch.

More importantly, Midtown: you have Ricky Martin CDs?

Posted: 4/5/05 at 2:21pmThey did spell her name wrong! It's not on the CD itself, just the annoying strip on the top of the CD that you have to break a nail to get off.

midtown,
I'm holding you personally responsible for the Cheno fan thread on the other board ... and the hundreds that will follow! LOL

I don't know, Midtown. I think THAT'S what she meant by the depths of depravity.
Now, please tell me you have no Marc Anthony in there as well...

Posted: 4/5/05 at 2:26pmWhat's wrong with Ricky Martin??? If only everyone were as talented and entertaining as he. I only have his "Sound Loaded" CD; but I really like it.

Feodor...you're a HOT older man, you love Julie Andrews and Ricky Martin?
Are you sure you're straight? And, if not, will you be my sugar daddy? :)

Posted: 4/5/05 at 2:59pmMy wife and former girlfriends think I am. I've already said that I am gay in every aspect, except sex. Well, and sports. I like to play sports. I am unaware of the gay implications of Julie Andrews and Ricky Martin, however.

Posted: 4/5/05 at 3:02pmCue Midtown with one of his patented "You're a 'mo" posts. Supposedly, because he can't believe that there are straight guys in this environment.

Rathy--believe it or not, i've mellowed since my early 1990's Queer Nation days. As long as Ricky doesn't do any harm (a la Roy Cohn), or for example, appear on The 700 Club
, i'll forgive him. He'll probably come out when his career is over (like yesterday!)--for example, Richard Chamberlain.

Posted: 4/5/05 at 3:18pmMy personal opinion is that in this day and age, denying your own homosexuality when you could be a role model for so many is worse than judging homosexuals because you aren't one and don't understand them. (See: Rosie O'Donnell)
