One of my friends invited me to a "bad taste party" this weekend. It's a costume party, and I have no idea what to wear. I thought that this board just might be a good place to find some fun costume ideas; I'm guessing that a few posters here may get a kick out of the idea for the party!
Anyone have any brilliant suggestions to offer? Thanks in advance.

It's basically a costume party where people dress up as something really tacky, politically incorrect, or just plain ugly.

I know this is horrible...

What, exactly, are you implying?
That was the first thing I thought of, SweetQ.

Only that some posters on this site seem to have odd senses of humor, as do most of my friends. I'm sorry, I don't mean to insult anyone here!
The party is, as far as I know, just a gathering of silly college students; it should be harmless. Well, relatively.
Oh, SweetQ, thanks for the suggestion, but I think that's maybe a bit too much.

I have one, but I think it is to bad to post.
Maybe I will PM you the idea.

I was really hoping for ideas that were a little more, well, light-hearted. As I said earlier, harmless.
I guess I should have known what I was getting myself into. Sorry.

Oh, you didn't insult me! I was merely making a joke - based on the reality that if you're looking for good examples of bad taste, you've come to the right place. ;oP

Thanks, wonderwaiter, for the assurance! That's one of the worst things about message boards - missing out on sarcasm.
Anyway, yes, I figured that was the reality.
Sorry I can't actually contribute. Outside of the already posted Steve Irwin costume, I got nothin'. Sad that my tastelessness would fail me.
/has Velveeta.

JonBenet Ramsey?
Nah, be Britney Spears or Fed-Ex.
Go as a priest with a pocket full of candy and toys.
Or you could go really tasteless and have a pair of boys underwear stuck to your back.
Yep, I went there.
You could hit a thrift store and assemble a delightfully tacky '80's fashion nightmare.

I guess I miss what the attraction is for promoting bad taste. Not a party I would want to attend.

I went to a similar type of party once. It was called something else, but sounds like the same theme.
My costume was Peg Bundy-ish style. I brought green bean and onion string casserole (made with cream of mushroom soup! :) ) for a dish.
The ultimate bad taste party food:
We were having get together and three of us decided to do the food. I made a beautiful baked chicken salad ring, a baked onion dip, and chocolate fondue with homemade cookies, brownies, rice crispy treats, and fresh fruit. My first friend brought a shrimp platter, and assorted small appetizers. The third friend, who knew what we were bringing and said she would fill in any gaps brought:
A block of cream cheese which she opened, put on a platter and poured a jar of salsa over. She served it with tortilla chips.
And that was it. Classy, huh?
A friend of mine wore her regular clothes, but carried a set of handlesbars painted red with a tampon glued on top. She said she was a menstrual cycle. That is still my all-time favorite costume.
That's GREAT.
Every party I attend becomes a Bad Taste Party.
Especially if I'm drunk.
