I really miss watching the old Nickelodeon DOUG before Disney got a hold of it and bastardized it. Any other "original" DOUG fans out there?
heck yes.... i didn't realize Disney took over... what did they do?
Man, did I love Doug. Especially the musical numbers like "Bangin' On a Trash Can", "Think Big", "Killer Tofu", and "I Need More Allowance".
And it definitely started to suck after Disney took over. They changed the voices, the animation, and just the general feeling of the show.

I watched both--Disney and Nickelodeon.
But it was better on Nick. Patty Mayonaise was so effing hot.
Do do do do, do do do do do do do, do do do do, do do do do do do do.
Loved it.
aww Doug, how I loved that show it was really good when Nick had it, but Disney screwed it up. It just was never the same after that. *sighs*

I have those songs on my ipod. Yes, that's a little sad, I know. :P
And yes, Disney definitely ruined that show.
I loved Doug! I thought it was the best of the original three Nicktoons (remember when "Doug", "Rugrats" and "Ren and Stimpy" were the only ones?). When Disney got it, they had to put a "lesson" into each one. I mean, there were lessons of sorts in the original, but they weren't beating you over the head with them.

I think the best thing about DOUG were all of the random, erratic noises that peppered the show. And how just about every character, besides Doug, had an amusingly irritating voice. This sounds like a sarcastic complaint but it's not. It's high high high praise.
Why?
Because if you're feelin' kinda cruddy...
Well, when it was on Nickelodeon the show was fun and pretty pointless but when Disney got it's hands on it, the show got more serious and like someone else said, they had to have a "Full House" ending in every episode. BLAH!!!

My friend's thoughts on DOUG:
"His aura shines through the thick fog of the school tedium; a lustrous light of imagination and the exemplar of the ubiquitous notion that Funday should be a day of the week. Doug was not part of a TV show. Hell, Doug was not fictional. However, Doug could not exist in a physical form because Doug is the pure embodiment of youth. He exemplifed the everyman, or perhaps the everychild; the ideal kid, if you will. Good at heart, an amazing conscience, and fought the good fight against bullies, peer pressure and parental troubles. If you were raised in a bad home, you referred to him as a counselor. If you had girl troubles, you viewed him as the ultimate debonair. Everyone had a bit of Doug in them, and by viewing his TV show, you replaced a tainted part of your personality with a part of his. For a TV show to do such a feat should not be thrown away in the archives, but released on DVD, so other children in this horrid age of television can possibly be 1/8 of the resident who lived on Jumbo Street."
My favorite episode was when the Mayor kept calling to "Beautify Bluffington". Whenever it's time to clean my room, I still use that phrase.
Oh wow, I used to watch this show a TON.
I don't remember much from it though, but was this the show with the episode about the girl needing support for something so she went out and got a bra and then found out that they meant a spotter (or something like that)?
I eat my sugar cereal, but it makes my teeth bacterial!
OMG, i had completly forgotten those songs!! I remember all of them except I need More Allowance. What episode was that song in?
And you're right, Doug was never the same after Disney took over. When Nick had it, the show never seemed to take itself too seriously, then when Disney took over they just ruined it.
I need more allowance! Yodellll-ay-eeee-huuuuuuuu...
Nevermind, I just remembered what I was talking about. It was Pepper Ann.

"Strummin' on my banjo..."
I've tried to watch the Disneyfired Doub, but it's just awful. I miss Doug and Rocko's Modern Life and all those good shows. Can't there be a classic Nickelodeon shows channel?
Hah...I think I have both theme songs on my comp.

Reruns of both Doug and Rocko's Modern Life air on the Nicktoons channel, if anybody gets it.
Rocko...
Sweet, sweet Rocko!! Now I have to get this channel...

There are full eps of Doug and Rocko on YOUTUBE.
*GASP* isn't mentioning "The Accurssed Site" cause for eternal damnation? Go say three Hail Marys (ok...I'm so Jewish, I can't even pretend to know what I am talking about).

By the way, is it just me or was Doug more than a bit autistic? It's pretty apparent in the episode where he lost his journal. ("No, I haven't seen your diary." "IT'S A JOURNAAAAAAAL!" plus his fantasy of the journal getting smashed in a junkyard screaming "HELP ME DOOOOOUG! I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIIIIIIIIIIENDS!")
