Disney ruined Doug.
I'm still not over it.

Posted: 3/16/06 at 5:42pmI wanted to name my puppy Porkchop, after Doug's dog, but the rest of my family didn't exactly go for it. I love Nickelodeon's Doug.. Disney can burn in hell.

Wow, kate2, that's a lot of anger. I don't know about hell, but Disney should definitely be punished. Perhaps all the animators should be stuck in a room and forced to watch their work on Disney's Doug for 48 hours straight.
Sandwich-- You're killing me.

Posted: 3/16/06 at 8:36pmOH MY GOD! You just brightened my day, spidey! I used to watch this all the time at my cousins house. We even did a version of Banging on a Trash Can when we were bored one day. I still remember it.

Original Nickelodeon version of Doug > Bastardized Disney version
I think that's a pretty valid statement to make. I'll never forget the first time I tuned in to the new Disney version. I took one look at Doug Funnie's slightly altered face (compliments of a new animator) and thought something seemed off...then he opened his mouth and I heard him talk, and I realized at that moment that something had gone terribly, terribly wrong.
*sigh*
But back to happier memories...Quail Man, anyone? And does anyone remember the episode where Doug wrote a song for Patti? All I remember is the last line, which eloquently stated, "And Patti you're the mayonnaise for me."

Banging on a Trash Can . . .
I haven't heard or thought about Doug in YEARS, and someone in one of my classes was just singing this a couple of days ago. Random!

I LOVED Doug when I was younger. I haven't seen it in years. Same with Rocko's Modern Life. Old School Nickelodeon was the best.
"Banging on a Trash Can..." I totally remember that song! And the band they all liked, The Beets. *sigh*

"My middle name was 'Danger.' Well, actually, it was 'Yantzee.' But 'Danger' was my nickname."
I'll admit, I was more of a Rugrats kid, but I really like Doug.

Oh, the good old days of Nicktoons. You know, at least with Doug we can say Disney bastardized. Nickelodeon bastardized Rugrats all by itself.
Oh, and I'm sure we'll have an old-school Nick nostalgia channel in 10 years or so, when our generation has the money to justify it. Or at least DVDs. I mean, they're showing The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on Nick at Nite, for crying at loud.
