Family Day

Maybe next year?
#827

Family Day

Maybe tomorrow! It's a long season. :) Which can be cool or depressing, depending on your point of view, but right now I'm choosing to look on the bright side of things.

Family Day

My wife has decided that she wants to go to a game. I have three games left and she was deciding who she wants to go with us. I found it funny.

Family Day

Stupid...bloody...frickin'...

Why the hell can't they beat the bleeping Devil Rays and Royals? WHY? I mean, I realize the Yanks are mediocre this year, but those teams stink! That's the difference between their current position and first place right there. Dammit dammit dammit. They'd better win today.

ETA- Crap crap crappity crap crap. Crap.

Cubs win

Cubs win in Houston 4-1.
#831

Cubs win

Cubs win again! Zambrano gets an HR!
#832

Cubs win

*breaks things*

That's not a reaction to the Cubws, by the way.
#833

Cubs win

I don't get this team. I just don't. They just calmly kicked the crap out of one of the AL's best teams twice in a row, but the Devil Rays slay them.
#834

Cubs win

Plum, the White Sox are on a skid.

Cubs lose today, but have been a little better lately. The season is over, but I will see a few more games. I am taking my wife to one of them.
#835

Cubs win

I know the White Sox haven't been doing that well, but Yankees fought them hard in the last series they played, too. Yet somehow the Devil Rays and Royals, two of the worst teams out there, give New York conniptions. They've got 9 games left against those teams, mixed in with a lot of Seattle, Oakland, Baltimore, and Toronto. If the Yanks want the Wild Card, they're going to have to fight for it tooth and nail. I don't like their chances, but what can I do except cheer them on?

Have fun at Wrigley. :) I'm going to try to make it to the Stadium one more time before I leave for school, but I'm not sure it's possible. Ah, well. If our teams get eliminated, we can at least take malicious pleasure from altering the playoff prospects of others.
#836

Cubs win

That is true. I did enjoy taking 2 of 3 from the Cardinals and winning the Houston series.
#837

Cubs win

Note: Throwing baseballs in the house is not the wisest idea

*nods solemnly*

Actually, causing baseballs to fly in the air by means of arm or bat is just a bad, bad idea unless you're at least 150 feet or so from the nearest easily damaged structure.

Not that I speak from experience or anything.
#839

Cubs win

Plum, that has been the mode the Braves operate in for years, except for the immenent playoff cloapse against a better team.
I also have been banned from being near a ball or bat indoors, or near a building.
Ah well, the Yanks seem to be creeping back into it. Cubs win
so all is well! (mostly)
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.
#840

Cubs win

Heh. I've managed to cause damage with a friggin' Pink Pong ball, which is so insubstantial you can get hit with one full force and hardly feel a thing.
#841

Cubs win

I understand that type of destruction Plum.
My friend and I back in college used to play ball inside at any opportunity... we definitely knocked a NERF football into a light fixture and caused a huge section of the ceiling to come crashing down. Cubs win
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.
#842

Cubs win

*snicker* One of our dorms has an organized hall tee-ball league. I don't think they've broken anything yet, but it's just a matter of time.
#843

Cubs win

the first step is definitely NEVER letting me into that building, although I love indoor TeeBall. Cubs win
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.
#844

Braves win

Sorry the others lost, but the Braves just avoided being swept in season series by an NL team for the first time ever so I'm pretty happy!
I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.
#845

Braves win

Well, at least Oakland lost, so the Yanks are no farther back than before in the Wild Card race.
#846

Braves win

Painful 7-9 loss for the Cubs.
#847

Braves win

Oh, cripes. This game is killing me.

The scoring so far:
Top 4th- 2-0 Toronto
Bottom 6th- 2-1 Toronto
Bottom 7th- 2-2 Tie
Top 8th- 3-2 Toronto
Bottom 8th- 3-3 Tie
Top 9th- 4-3 Toronto

And now Matsui hit a home run to tie it again.

D'you think maybe this time they can actually take the lead? And, you know...not blow it in the next half-inning? That would be nice.

Yankees rule the world!

My old friends! It's been so long!!!

Go Yankees!

I'll be at the games on Friday and Sunday this weekend, hooray!
#849

Yankees rule the world!

Thuuuh Yankees win! Sweet!

We got the Wild Card, we got the Wild Card. Well, the Wild Card lead. Hey, I'll take what I can get.
