No, I totally agree with you. On a Wednesday evening, after 10pm, there were a couple of guys out on the street with a group of children, having them sing for money. I thought that was awful, especially since none of the kids looked older than 10. All I was thinking was, "Don't these kids have school tomorrow?"

I understood you perfectly, Jane. And you continue to dig yourself fresh holes to crawl into.
If you think it's a "quality of life issue" that you can't listen and appreciate street musicians for five minutes, then you're even more incredibly spoiled and self-entitled than I thought.
I know the men you speak of, and they are excellent musicians.
Now I understand what you meant by "most" of them being annoying. I guess the white people who ask for money are ok.
Speaking of music....don't you think hip-hop is over??? I mean really over??? Like minstrel show over???

Actually, to be quite honest, I hardly ever see white people asking for money.

Yes, that's true, and even more so!
"I know the men you speak of, and they are excellent musicians."
Oh really? Which ones? I see different ones all the time.

Oh,you are so right about everything! Amazing. Now toddle on back to the bin.
Oh, and aren't those Asian's ANNOYING??? Especially the one's who wish they were black rappers and "ethnic" street musicians!

I was once waiting for the Red Line and had to listen to go a guy with a karaoke machine sing off-key about how he wanted to touch Beyonce's booty for fifteen minutes. I gave him five dollars just to shut him up.

Those are the Asian muslims you're referring to, right, BB?
Chinese muslims to be specific Phyllis. And they're married to linguists.
And suffer multiple personality disorder.
It's all so annoying...........

Of course you do. Whenever something is discussed you always know everything about it.
Jesus Christ, people! There was a reason for this thread and the usual suspects turn this into a sock puppet gang-up. Get a F*CKing life!

So. Anyways.
We were talking about kindness, right...?

Um, sometimes when BKCollector isn't a chinese muslim he's a christian who was preached to be Jeremiah Wright, so he might not look kindly on you taking the name of his sometime lord and savior in vain.

Oh, I think you mean me. I especially can't stand the drumming on the plastic tubs when I can hear it in my living room (I am not exaggerating). Otherwise, it is only the ones who perform for captive audiences that piss me off (i.e. subway platforms, queues, anywhere where they know people are forced to wait). Believe it or not, there are times I am not in the mood to listen to Killing Me Softly burped into a microphone from a self-taught saxophone player who believes music should be cranked out of a portable amplifier/karaoke machine to the point of distortion. While I have seen/heard some talented people, if they strategically place themselves where people are literally forced to be subjected to the music, they do not get my money.
Matt, and I guess the reason why it's illegal on the subway is because only you and I are annoyed by it.
You cold-hearted b*tches obviously wield a lot of power.

hey, we all have our own standards of quality of life.
It is a simple fact of life that Jane is lovely. I have yet to meet a single Jane/Jayne who sucks. So back off my Jane! >:O
Borstal, your avatar! OMG! I've been sitting here watching 'Oz' for the last week or so wondering where I've seen Keller before and why he looks so damn familiar, then I come here for a little non-prison-related theatre chat, and bam! There he is! It's pleasing to know I'm not going mad.
Bringing you the Meloni.
Now that's kindness.

My old office was made all but uninhabitable by a group of "Bucket Boys" who "Played" the buckets two floors down and a half-block over most summer afternoons. I tried everything to block out the noise to no avail. I couldn't even participate in conference calls because the phone would pick up on the "music."
And, just so BK knows what to accuse me of, they were a group of young, multi-racial fellows who told me that on a decent day, they could collect $500 or more in a couple hours.
