"As Good As It Gets" is a gay movie? In what sense of the word? In that there is a stereotypical gay character who is the catalyst for the totally unbelieveable heterosexual straight romance?
And then there is the Adjective "Best" which really tries my nerves. First, the tremendously successful gay painter has NO insurance, NO savings and, apparently not a single friend who can help him. Argh-- well I know people liked it, I'll stop there.
Bent is wonderful-- OK on film but spectacular on stage!

Isn't there a movie called In and Out? I saw it as a 7 year old...watched it by myself. I have NO idea why I picked it out at Blockbuster or why whoever I was with let me get it.

Yeah Parks there is and it's gay gay gay.
It's like all them kids who grow up wondering why in the world Dorothy would ever want to return to dull old Kansas when she can stay in the FABULOUS Emerald City!
THE BIRDCAGE!
Joe, I was one of the kids.

OK here's a few that come to mind:
Longtime Companion
Beautiful Thing
Torch Song Trilogy
Y Tu Mama Tabien
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,
and its Drag-Queen-Pavilion-at-Disney-World counterpart, Too Wong Foo- Thanks For Everthing, Julie Newmar.
It’s incredibly depressing, but I think Kar Wai Wong’s gorgeous “Happy Together” would top my list.
And JoeKv, I agree with you completely about “As Good as it Gets"...Jesus, I loathed that movie.
I never even made it all the way through As Good As It Gets.
Loathsome.

i'm not sure i understand what constitutes a "gay" movie.
i mean, would THE WOMEN or COME BACK TO THE FIVE & DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN qualify?
would anything by john waters, pedro almodovar or todd haynes?

What about Rocky Horror Picture Show?
Not *very* gay, but still awesome.
Urbania is AMAZING! I had forgotten about that one. Dan Futterman needs to come back to Broadway.

As much as I loved the performances in Mysterious Skin, it left me rather flat, and I currently don't remember why, i just remember being disappointed. conversely, i really liked the premise of A Home at the End of the World, but Dallas Roberts made me cringe.
Also, But I'm a Cheerleader is definately my favorite movie turned Musical. Its such a great movie.
Mambo Italiano was also a cute little flick.
You I Love
Beautiful Thing (I love the Mama Cassidy black girl)
Trick
Anything by Pedro
Anything that stars Gael Garcia Bernal
But I'm a Cheerleader
Happy Endings was a piece of crap IMO, All About My Mother is one of my favorite gay movies.
