Piper you obviously aren't aware the SNL schedule. On Monday there are long meetings with the writers to pitch sketches. On Wednesday there is a table read where the sketches that are going to be produced ( this can last hours). Rehearsals start around noon and can run until 1-2 in the morning Thursday and Friday. With pre-tapes (like the digital shorts) the days can start as early as 8:30AM. That can be a 16 hour day. On Saturday the day begins at1PM where the whole show is run in front of cameras, making sure the blocking is correct. At 8 PM they show is put through a dress rehearsal. Then sketches are rewritten, some things cut and then it is put on again at 11:30. That 'Half of a 90 minute show" Takes about 60 grueling hours to put on. In between sketches the guest host has to literally be grabbed and run from one set to a changing station for wardrobe and hair changes and then run to the the next set. The stress is pretty intense even for being in "Half of a 90 minute show".

I still think she is pretty spry and has a lot of stamina. I thought the comparison you made was to something else. I am aware of the schedule actually and was lucky enough to get stand by tickets to a reheasal a few months ago.

one of my fave characters of Betty was when she played Eunice's snotty sister on the Carol Burnett show.

Yes. she is spry and has a lot of stamina. So does Cloris Leachman. Having parents who are both in their early eighties (and knowing their friends) these two women are more the exceptions then the rule. I am thankful for that because they both bring such wonderful entertainment and laughs!

A good show but let me just grumble about two things: The bringing back of some of the old female guard was wonderful, but only underlines that the women who are on the show now--with the exception of Kristen Wiig--are given nothing to do.

And, oh f**k could someone please tell Jay-Z that Empire State of Mind is second to Single Ladies as the song NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR AGAIN.

Betty actually flubs a bit on the census sketch. Instead of saying Lee Smith, she says Lee Jones. Betty makes "that face" as does Tina, but Tina goes on and its fixed fairly quickly. It's the only mistake I noticed throughout the whole show.
