broadwayboy, when I knew she was on, I was hoping the same thing.

When I think back on the show, it was funny but I don't think it would have been as funny had someone else hosted with the same skits, with exception of a few.

I loved the CSI:Sarasota skit just for the fact that my parents are moving there next month and I just had to walk them through how to find the clip on Hulu.

I enjoyed it. Sure a lot of it was funny because of the fact that Betty White said it.

The "Scared Straight" skit was painful, as was "The Manuel Ortiz Show".

But I definitely enjoyed the Census skit and the Digital Short.

Spoke to my 79 year old Grandmother today. She has loved Betty since the 50's. She said here is a woman who has reached over to so many generations and is still funny. Times have changed,people's sense of humor changes,but this lady can still keep it fresh. My 79 year old grandmother was laughing so hard today watching clips from last night's SNL. Pretty rare finding something a woman that age,a teenager,or even someone my age laughing at the same thing.

Who else can reach such a wide audience? I think we saw some Television History last night. Oldest host on SNL and she showed this generation how it's done. She was in every sketch PLUS sketches we did not even get to see from rehearsals.Not bad. Let's not forget the long hours,keeping track of who she was in each sketch and just showing us she can be funny with or without cue cards.

So,anyone who was disappointed with her or SNL last night just doesn't get it.Frankly, I'm greedy and I want more. I want her to host the season opener this September!

sorry you took that the wrong way. i was actually complimenting her as being a stong, vibrant woman even at 88 1/2 as she and the likes of clores leachman are around the same age ? i don't think either want to be patted on the head for completing something. that's just my opinion. i find Betty to be fabulous and SNAFU I don't think this is the same as doing one half of a 90 minute show of constant dancing and singing. christ almighty

Anyway, Betty was fantastic. I loved her monologue! It was hilarious, sincere and completely honest. She said in a recent interview that the last few months is the busiest she's ever been and now we know why. She's sharp as a tack!

My boyfriend and I got a little teary during the first part of the digital short. We're both HUGE Golden Girls fans and she truly is a Golden Girl.

I like how the writers didn't tame her. She may look wholesome, but deep down, she's a dirty girl! I found this in a google image search. She was gorgeous!
