Not sure what the carbon footprint of Beyonce's tour is. But I'm sure it's much less than the carbon foortpring to the internet. Which you are currenltly using to complain about Beyonce's carbon footprint.

Erik, you make a reasonable point. Thank you for making me look at it from that angle.
However, the difference here between me and Beyoncé is that I am not being hailed for my "generosity and consideration". In fact, I am routinely piled on for raising legitimate concerns. You highlighting my supposed hypocricy does not invalidate the legitimacy of these concerns.
Acts like Coldplay are making an effort to offset their carbon footprint, and reduce any harm through recycling.
Sadly for me, I am not in the same social bracket as Mrs. Carter, and find it harder to escape the tough realities of life such as using the internet.

"Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce" makes its way to SoCal theaters in December. Because I missed her recent tour, we will definitely be seeing this film, perhaps on Christmas Day. A nice end-of-year present. Anyone else with plans to see Beyonce's film?

I'm not sure if the point of these releases in cinemas is to help disappointed fans see the show, or just to make more $$$ for the Mrs.Carter/Swiftie corporations. I suspect the latter.

I get your disappointment with Beyonce's Dubai concert. But I think it can be problematic to discount the impact Beyonce has had on the community, especially the impact of the Renaissance album on the black queer community. And when you shame others for liking her aren't you engaging in your own moral superiority?

Erik, I am not trying to shame anyone except Beyoncé Incorporated. Or discount any joy or confidence the album has brought to people who badly need it. That can only be a good thing. I just feel personally betrayed when I realized that Mrs. Carter doesn't actually give a sh!t. It was all just a performative sham aimed at a lucrative market. It's easy to be an ally when it costs you nothing. When her "principles" were actually put to the test, she failed badly. Flushed away for dollars.
Renaissance remains a great album. There were over 30 songwriters on it, and many producers. Beyoncé was just the frontwoman, whose celebrity is what gave the record its success. She doesn't deserve all the credit, and certainly NOT to be hailed as an LGBT hero.
