Big Brother Season 15 -- BB's Biggest Season Yet

The cast for BIG BROTHER 15 is being announced today. This season will feature the largest cast yet, with all of them being newbies.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

All new - but Elissa is Rachel's sister...

Doesn't mean that matters necessarily, but I'll bet you if she lasts we'll be getting a visit from her.

As much as I LOVE Janelle and Britney it will be nice to have a cast of all new contestants.

This will be the first time I have Showtime during the run of Big Brother. Do you all think BBAD is worth watching?

I did not know that! Well, either way, what do you think about it?

I always read recaps on DL and got a kick out of them, but it also seemed like there were some pretty boring parts of BBAD too.

Honestly, they are given EXTRA alcohol so its worth while. I've noticed in the past, some of the better players stay up and strategize during these times because the floaters are asleep so you see a lot they don't show on the actual episodes.

Cool, well I think I'm going to give a shot this year. I can't wait for this season to start already!

Yay!! My favorite summer guilty pleasure. And of course another year with BWW and Mister Matt's take on the episode..which is often better than the actual episode!

Whizzer, to answer your question about After Dark, it really depends on the night. Some nights it's hilarious if they're up to some antics with the encouragement of a little booze (much of this never gets aired) and others it's impossible to turn off if there's lots of gossiping and strategizing or even a good fight.

That said, since they're in there 24/7, there will be nights when nothing is going on and it would be more exciting to watch paint dry. I am a night owl (as evident by the time of this posting) so I usually flip it on in bed since little else is on then and tune it out if nothing exciting is happening.

Thanks, I think I will casually have it on in the background and if it seems interesting I'll pay attention. I figure there must be many slow moments, but when I heard some of the hilarious stuff Britney was saying last season on BBAD I felt like I was missing out.

clever name, I agree that Mister Matt gives some of the best BB commentary around!

After Dark also (this is probably obvious) becomes more interesting once you have an idea who you like, who you dislike, etc (and trust me--those feelings often change while watching it--you also realize how extremely the editors seem to try to manipulate viewers into favouring one person over another.)

You can definitely tell who the producers give the good edit to and who they want to push on the viewers. They REALLY wanted us to like Frank last season.

Well, I'll get to see a couple of episodes before I go on vacation, but I always look forward to BB discussions. I just hope they can get someone as fun and interesting as Britney.

For contrast, I've been watching the new season of BB UK. I don't care for the audience vote aspect of the show, which removes nearly all the strategy from the game, which is what makes the American version fun to watch. They have incorporated a couple of elements from the American version, but not enough to create much momentum. The house itself is impressive, though. And they have a few other obstacles to make their life in the house a bit more challenging, such as a stationary bike in order to power bathroom appliances, a crank to heat the water for the shower, and growing and harvesting much of their food from the garden. There isn't a cushy HoH room, but the HoH gets other types of rewards, it seems. The really bizarre thing was that it took NINE EPISODES to get to the first eviction! And the live episodes sort of got repeated in the next episode from a different perspective (mainly due to a "twist" this season occurring only in the first week to throw everyone in chaos, but if for only the first week, I don't really see the point).

That being said, I was fine with Sallie going home, though I hope Gina and Dexter leave soon. Wolfy for the win!

I'm just watching now and got through the first big twist- three nominees every week!!! HOH only chooses two? Eeek I LOVE this show!!

I hate that Rachel's sister is part of the cast. It might as well be her. So much for all "original" people. When I see her, I see Rachel. They're gonna figure it out next week, and it's gonna impact the game.

Andy is too cute.

Nick is smart but will make poor decisions. He'll definitely overthink and overanalyze and that will be his downfall.

I hate the lifeguard dude. He's too full of himself. Vote him out NOW please.

Is Andy Jesse Tyler Ferguson's body double in Comedy of Errors? They are the same person.

Nick is so super hot and, like Shane last season, is probably gay. He's my early favorite.

That twist!! I was worried America was going to vote for the third nominee which would have sucked. This is pretty awesome though, and even better that the whole process will remain anonymous from the other houseguests.

I agree that David is the most annoying at the moment, but so far I'm interested in the majority of the cast and certainly don't see any clunkers like Jenn right off the bat.

It will definitely be interesting to see how this plays out over the summer. The twist is definitely unique and definitely has potential for some real drama.

Early favorite is Nick. I think Judd will be funny.

Arynn is BEAUTIFUL. Definite eye candy for the summer.

Ginamarie and Jeremy are the most annoying at this point to me. David at least should provide some humor.

Macrae seems like he could be a force if he survives next week.

I don't really have much of an opinion on the others yet.

Could they find women that were any more self centered? Ugh.
