Posted: 10/15/07 at 11:39amI find this subject to have the assumption that guys are jerks and that they need to told how to make women(or men) happy. I don't assume that a woman is going to make me happy, I just want her to be herself. If I don't like who she is, why would I be with her?

Posted: 10/15/07 at 11:42amVery good poin.t That's why I didn't put out any of the "don't cheat" or "hygiene is important" or any of that. If that's who you are, you can find someone out there that can appreciate that. It may be hard to find, but there is someone.

Corine, we all have our preferences in what we find physically attractive and that's fine. But if you met someone you were totally crazy about, who treated you well and reciprocated your feelings, would you really call it quits over that? I'm not picking on you. It just seems like a silly dealbreaker if you were otherwise attracted to the person and everything else was great.

Blue Roses,
If I met the right guy I would not care about a hairy back. Then again a Nair party might make him enjoy losing the back fuzz with no pain involved.
Seriously, it is just a personal thing. Cuddling an ape is what came to mind with my last boyfriend. Hair was not the only issue.

Corine, how long did you and Rick date? Did you ever ask him to shave his back for you?

hey! smooth and slim guys need love too folkyboy. let's not start discriminating. i've dated all types of guys. guys from different backgrounds, lifestyles, ages, income, etc. doesn't make one bit of difference.
i haven't had much luck in the man department...at all.
i attract the biggest jerks on the planet. they look good on the surface but mentally they turn out to be f*cked up.

Posted: 10/15/07 at 8:48pmI think that I would be a great boyfriend for any girl out there because I'm not rude, not a douche, and I'm basically the opposite of alot of the guys my age. Why I'm not in a relationship might be that I'm painfully shy around girls and I have what I want to say in my head, but it never comes out, but I'm not one of those guys who's only interested in a relationship for the ultimate goal to be sex, I don't demean or judge people(out loud anyway).

Worrell, how old are you?
If you are a teenager then you're probably right--you probably are a great guy and you probably have girls that want to date you, but teenage girls are naturally insecure (trust me, I know, I'm one of them). A lot of us pretty much assume that if a guy isn't showing interest, he doesn't have any. It's hard at our age to be up-front. Each gender thinks the other has more power when it comes to initiating a relationship. But in the end someone's gotta make a first move.

Thanks, don. I get that a lot.
And, yet, despite all the insight I have into the inner workings into the minds of both male and female teenagers, I can't seem to find a guy to save my life. Go figure.

Corine, close readers of your saga will remember you've reported two or three boyfriends since your "trouble with hairy," who, they may also remember, surfaced in your life right around the time the same issue came up for Charlotte on Sex & The City.
You know, for what it's worth.

I guess that rules me out, Phyllis.
For me it's honesty above all. As my grandmother used to say, "Where there's no honesty, there's no trust; and where there's no trust, there's no relationship."

Posted: 10/16/07 at 12:01amYou know, I always thought of myself and as a "live and let live" kind of gal, but I had a really bad experience with one a few years ago and now I can't even look at one. Same with Tequila.

Posted: 10/16/07 at 12:28amThat's what I'm sayin'! I feel bad about it, because I was always one to take up for the cause, but I just had a really bad experience. Speaking of confusing one's life with an epsiode of Sex and the City, if he really loved me, he'd get a trim. Wouldn't he?
