From what I've heard, you forget about the lip syncing pretty quickly, as there's so much going on that you don't really notice.
Has Britney EVER actually sung live on tour?

Posted: 3/6/09 at 11:44pmYeah, I was actually thinking about this today. There is so much going on on that stage (Dancing and sets) that you forget that the singing is not live. Like someone posted earlier, people don't care anymore that she lip syncs. Updated On: 3/6/09 at 11:44 PM

She used to sing her ballads live for the most part, yes. She sang 2 or 3 songs on Onyx Hotel tour actually! She sang Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know on the Dream Within a Dream tour (YouTube it!) and while it was lowered a LOT, it wasn't half bad!
The audio that leaked of her was from the Dream Within a Dream tour--many people thought it was fake, but it's 100% real. Well, the Baby One More Time part is real, I know for sure because before they went back and redubbed over the parts she sang in on the DVD, that was the audio that originally aired on HBO. I'm assuming the rest is real too--I'm positive it's her voice.
...I'm a Britney freak.

Posted: 3/7/09 at 6:21pmI loveeee Britney! You have to give her credit for picking herself up. I'm a bit disappointed with the set list though- only 3 Circus songs?

only 3 Circus songs?
Yeah. What's the deal with that. most of her songs are from her last album and its called CIRCUS TOUR (apparently promoting her new album)

Just objectively speaking, this thread is so sad on so many levels.
It's sad to see people go to such lengths to justify spending money on something that is presented as a "concert" when it is nothing of the sort. It's sad to see people say that basically you forget there is no live singing, as if that's a good thing. At a "concert."
It's sad to see Britney Spears paraded around by her handlers, when obviously whatever native talent she had has all but evaporated and she is heavily medicated so as not to harm herself or others. It's like watching the Frances Farmer story if Frances had no talent and the lobotomy was only chemical (thus far).
It's sad to see people who watched somebody on a kiddie show not go through the once-universal stage where their fandom for childish things embarrasses them, because they grew up, developed better taste, and now know better.

My second concern is this photo taken from her New Orleans show.
WHY?

More photos from her concert:
WTF is she doing? LOL.
Wonder Woman?
Nala in Lion King?
Sorry.but this is a rip-off from Madonna's 1993 GIRLIE SHOW!
Kathy Griffin is right.. this is gonna all about lipsynching and fake wigs! I love POP MUSIC but I am all about Lady GaGa now! she actually sings live~seen footages from her concert in London and she sounds great! I'm seeing her FAME BALL TOUR here!

She's having fun.
#41re: Britney Spears- Circus Tour
Posted: 3/8/09 at 12:11amI love her music, but I'm surprised by the lack of CIRCUS songs. And sorry to be snarky, but all Lady GaGa songs sound the same (case in point: POKER FACE and JUST DANCE)

Lady Gaga seems very pretentious and like a diva--which she has no right to be just yet--she just released her first album!
And what Britney wears on tour is not her own personal choice or designs. Everything is chosen for her pretty much right now by her management.
Britney's tour isn't supposed to look normal--it's a CIRCUS. :)

"Some real-ish dancing!!"
"I don't even care if she lip-synchs. It's BRITNEY for crying out loud."
I honestly can't wrap my head around what either of those statements might mean.

My goodness SandM2, and you called ME obsessed. Madonna, at her best, sings to pre-recorded tracks and lets the two background singers carry the melodies of her songs. And she definitely lip-synced to at least one full song per each of the three tours I saw her on. Oh, I know, I know, she was busy doing YOGA and it's MADONNA, so it doesn't matter.

I don't think I've ever been to a concert where the artist didn't lip sync to at LEAST one song. No one sings full concerts live anymore.
And if people want to pay top dollar to see Britney lip sync, then why bother talking them out of it? They're obviously going to see it anyway.

im not saying that she never lip syncs (she did on the 1st song on the last few tours except this one) all artists do. I was just pointing out that the people who keep putting her in the 'she lip syncs all the time' category are misinformed.
I also stated above that sometimes she does sing over a pre record click track though this is normally just on the chorus of big dance numbers.
And yes im defending my fave artist as you are also insulting the same person you always do, i guess we are both predictable

As a point of clarification of the posts written by the previous two apologists:
NO, all artists DO NOT lipsync.
As I wrote in my post in this thread, I am not trying to talk people out of spending their money on such things, I just think it says something profoundly sad about this culture. And your two posts amplify that for me.
