Did they put Seabiscuit in my Sausage Biscuit?
There's nothing nicer than a juciy steak a cheval. Yum!
Has anyone heard from Sarah Jessica Parker? Is she ok??
She's probably their accomplice in getting the horses since they identify with her. Double agent, that one.

Like, you can't taste it?!

Another reason not to eat fast food.
I pray McDonalds never reveals what's actually in the McRib.
^Wasn't it already confirmed that the McRib is made from the same stuff that they make sneaker soles out of?

Believe it or not I'm actually inclined to believe there is pork in the McRib. Maybe not the best cuts of pork, but pork nonetheless. I recently heard that if you track the appearance of the McRib it correlates pretty closely to times when the price of pork has dropped. When you combine the effects of only offering the product when prices for the ingredients are low and the increased demand you create by only offering it as a special item it becomes a pretty big money maker for McDonald's, and, conversely, could potentially become a profit loss if they offered it year round during times when pork prices are higher and probably decreasing its popularity by allowing customers to become passive about its existence.

Burger Kings are so hard to find where I am.
Is this just in the UK?
supposedly.
Just don't eat mystery meat. Period. Ain't worth it.
I love the McMystery burger!
I honestly don't get the big deal. They sell horse meat here right next to the ham and turkey cold cuts. It's leaner than most other meats. I don't eat it, probably because of my American upbringing, but many European countries don't think twice about it. I can't believe the UK and Ireland are flipping out about it.

I think the issue is that it wasn't disclosed. I've (willingly and knowingly) eaten horse, but I can see why people would be upset to learn they'd eaten horse without knowing about it.
How would you feel if they had made burgers of dogmeat? That's quite common in other cultures too.
I do get that. It would bother me, but I wouldn't call it a SCANDAL. I personally think meat is meat. I don't get how you can comfortable eat a cow or chicken, considering the deplorable conditions they are often kept in, and freak out because you have eaten horse. Horse meat is regularly eaten NEXT door to these countries. It's not done out of poverty. If I accidentally bought cold cuts called Hamburgar (thinking I was buying roast beef) being new to Sweden and ended up with horse, I don't consider it the end of the world. Not that I have ever done that or anything. o_O
I ate horse -- technically pony, I think -- in Iceland, where it's bought and sold, I was told, cheaply and with regularity. It was sauteed with vegetables and was very tasty.
While I'm no fan of Chick-fil-A, my first thought was that it would be hysterical if they now put out an ad replacing their cows with horses encouraging us to Eat More Chick'n.
Nothing 'mystery' about the McDonald's burger

There is real ground pork in a McRib. It's the bun that will kill you. Ignore the stuff about restructured meat, that's been proven untrue.
Ingredients found in fire extinguishers and yoga mats in your bun...but the meat is ok.
Addy--I'm not sure if you posted your link in the spirit of information or irony, but I'm pretty sure that we could find a similarly heart-warming, eco-friendly, lettuce-filled web-site for BK, too.
I have to agree with JerseyGirl--the outrage is so arbitrary and hypocritical. Where, exactly, do people think "meat" comes from?
Cows have big, shiny brown eyes just like horsies.
Meat = murder.
