Wasn't it Shakespeare who once said, "Politics makes strange F*CKbuddies"?

"I now believe he would be the weakest of the Democrat nominees," Limbaugh, among the most powerful voices in conservative radio, said on his program. "I now urge the Democrat supereldegates to make your mind up and publicly go for Obama."
"Barack Obama has shown he cannot get the votes Democrats need to win – blue-collar, working class people," Limbaugh also said. "He can get effete snobs, he can get wealthy academics, he can get the young, and he can get the black vote, but Democrats do not win with that."
CNN: Limbaugh comes out for Obama
if I hadn't met papa in person, I might swear...
JRB - I haven't met Papa, but I'll take your word for it. As for Limbaugh, I couldn't care less what he says or done, and I would prefer if we just didn't talk about him.
Limbaugh is a druggie and made fun of Michael J Fox for having Parkinson's. He also has a big fat ass. I don't think any of us need to take him seriously.
But there are a few people who do take Rush seriously. I don't know why.
I think this says enough.
He's endorsing Obama because he wants Dems to vote for Hillary. He must have read something somewhere about reverse psychology while in a vicodin induced stupor. The Republicans desperately want Hillary to go up against McCain. The general consensus is that Obama will be tougher to beat; exactly what I've been saying all along.

No, Lush. That's not what the Republican 527s have been saying for months now. They're salivating over the idea of taking Obama down.
They've already mapped out their anti-Obama TV and internet commercials now and they're going to make you retch your guts out.
That's your take on it. I've been listening to the pundits for weeks, and the consensus is that the Republicans would like nothing more than for McCain to run against Hillary. They don't want to go up against Obama. With Hillary, there's much more for them to go after. But frankly, PJ, you've gotten EVERYTHING wrong up ‘til now, so why should this be any different?
ETA: And I really love how you've embraced Obama. Starting inflammatory threads about him every 10 minutes is a great way to show your support. You should run out and buy a map, because you're obviously lost and can't find your way to the high road.

And Limbaugh is taking how many drugs now?
I hope Obama wins. We have much work to do to make that happen. And we have to hope the GOP/527s don't have anything on him--no swift boating.
Luscious--no need to be nasty.
I'm not talking about the pundits. I'm talking about the 527s--the groups that "swiftboated" John Kerry.
jrby--the 527s have disgusting stuff they're waiting to unleash--much, much worse than the Kerry swift boat commercials
I really don't think the crap the 527s may be planning to unleash on Obama is going to carry the same weight as it did with Kerry. They'll be called out on it this time. And if they're not real careful about how they go about assassinating his character, they'll be branded as racists.
They're assuming they'll be called racists. They're Republican 527s--why should that bother them?
According to the election laws (written by Democrats), 527s can have nothing to do with the Republican National Committee or the McCain campaign. So why should they care about being called racists?
"They're assuming they'll be called racists. They're Republican 527s--why should that bother them?"
It may not bother them, but I would hope that it would bother most others, and serve to further lessen their credibility and make people question their motives. I may be giving the American people too much credit, but I just don't think their deplorable tactics are going to work a second time, especially if Obama handles the attacks the way he's handled most things up until now; by responding quickly, concisely and authoritatively; something that Kerry did not do.
I would guess the Republicans are hoping to play the "Angry Black Man" card. I think this is one of the reasons Obama never really lashed out against Hillary even when she got tough.
He knows this perception could come back to bite him, and while I don't know if Hillary really used that card the Republicans will have no problem pulling it.
It could be argued that a lot of the coverage of Wright was meant to say, "Look! Wright is an angry Black man, and he was Obama's pastor. Obama must be an angry Black man too!"
I may be giving the American people too much credit
Would these be the same American people who voted for George Bush twice and still think Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11? Um, yes, you are giving them too much credit.
The 527 commercials will not be aimed at Obama supporters. They will be reach the White Working Class in the Swing States that Hillary would have brought onto the Democratic side.
That, in essence, was why Hillary supporters wanted a Unity ticket with her at the head: to neutralize the abilty of the Republicans to win over the WWC.
Without the WWC to swing the Swing States, a Democrat has never been elected president.
i thought wwc was larry craig's stall. you know, a wide water closet. thank you, thank you, i'll be here through the whole elections, try the veal.
don't worry, pj. he'll convert them by the sheer force of his personality. and if he doesn't, who needs a bunch white trash anyway. personaly i think it would be hypocritical at best for bammy to win on the backs of them rednecks.
he respresents a new paradigm in politics. one never seen before in the history of the united states. his coalition of students, blacks and well educated whites will swarm the polls, control them and the caucuses preventing mccain's people from running the caucuses anywhere. they don't need those rednecks and they don't want them. what's that? there are no caucuses? oh he's eff you see kat ee deed.
