Hannah, you auditioned, right? Did you get in?
My Fair Lady!!!
I was waitlisted. but I have an audition for Northwestern Summer vocal Inst. next week, so I'm hoping to nail that, because I doubt I'll get into BUTI this summer.
I was just curious, sorry! I'm wondering because the 3 people I know personally who auditioned all got in so I felt really untalented. Now that I know that talented people are getting rejected, I feel a lot better.

Hannah, if you go to NHSMI... it will be the best time of your life. Guaranteed. A couple of my friends are going there from last year, and they're awesome. I hope you go and enjoy it. :)
My Fair Lady... if you think that not getting into a summer vocal program makes you feel untalented... you may need to fix that, because the self-esteem blows you will face in college auditions and stuff suck a lot.
Recentley stumbled on this thread, thought I might join in the Soprano league
I can hit a high B but hoping to make it to a C or D one day; and my lowest note is a D below middle C. And tomorrow I have my first community theater audition for Oklahoma (crossing my fingers I get a chorus part.)
Roles that I think might be fun to do: Cinderella in Into the Woods, Carlotta in POTO, and many more!
Good luck, brina...and all the rest of you, on your auditions and feedback and everything!
I'm just stopping by, procrastinating on a paper.
Yay for sopranos! Neat thread. :)
I have the low E flat to the Queen of the Night (high F sharp). I would love to play Mabel in "Pirates of Penzance" one day. I've already done the show twice as a Ward, and it just never gets old!
"I was just curious, sorry!"
No, I wasn't mad! I haven't heard from you in a while that's all
It's so hard to type things out on the computer sometimes!
Lilmiz- I'm really excited for my audition and a lot of my friends have gotten into the acting portion of it and are psyched. I really want to get in!
Hannah-Ooh, ok. To me, it looked like a reprimand. But nice to see (I guess read) you too! And good luck!

I'm trained up to a high E and I am currently working on "Glitter and Be Gay" from "Candide".
I have the C and octave below middle C some days a little lower up to a high F#
And I am NAAAHHHT a belter ever, I always mix. Anyone the same way and get crap for it?
Oh my Gawd, it's back! I love this thread!
No serious- has anyone else gotten it cause I get it all the time and it makes me want to kick someone in the balls....

I'm the same way, Juliash. I just noticed it recently because I used to be big into belting but I honestly think that a mix sounds better than full out belting.
It's also a lot better for you. Not everyone's voice is made to full on chest belt and I've run into some teachers who don't get that...
I love writing lyrics
Ahaha, that's cool too.
Do you like writing for lyrics? Because then I like you. Unless that's creepy.

You guys are amazing. I can go up to a high E above high 'c' properly.
Which is pretty damn amazing for someone with no formal music training and is only 14 years old.
I have a few lyric songs
