Um.....I'll be there, Deet. I could pretend to be a cousin or something....
Oh, Moony, thanks, but it actually had nothing to do with that - long story short: I was left out of the loop on another death in the family, and my sister only found out about it through a very circuitous route that involved a non-family member.
oh, D2, that's horrible! people suck.

Of dear, that IS sad and bad.
I'm still attending.
Do you need any more long lost cousins?
Thanks, Hep - if it will get you to NYC so I can finally meet you, then YES!
Here's what REALLY pissed me off about this: it was a cousin on my father's side of the family, and her husband was dying of cancer. She had no problem calling me to ask J2 for free medical advice. J2 pulled some strings and was able to get her husband into a pretty good cancer center upstate where they live. Then when she spoke to my sister (after my sister called her) she claimed she doesn't have my phone number. THAT's why I'm so pissed off. They can call about stuff like that, looking for whatever they can, but not let us know about the death? WTF?
Deet, I know the adage 'you do for family,' but some abuse the connection. My hope is that they were merely so distracted by his passing that it slipped their mind. Well, it's possible. I hope.
I hope so too.
But there's decades of history...
Which is why I'm questioning why I'm so pissed. I should have expected it.
In that case, you should be back to your previously scheduled program.

Someone please remind me that, since I plan on spending the rest of my life with the TinMan, it would be counter-productive to KILL HIM.
Well, obviously I don't want to actually KILL HIM, but I really would like to SMACK HIM UPSIDE THE HEAD!
*sigh*
Oh, and good morning.
Um, okay.
Sometimes, Q, they need that.
As do we.
But yes, it would be terribly counter-productive to kill him. At the very least, you'd look dreadful in an orange jumpsuit.

"As do we."
I'm sure I have NO idea what you mean
And frankly, I can't imagine wearing a jumpsuit of any color - they just seem so difficult to deal with. Not to mention what happens when you lift your arms too high . . .

Orange is rarely flattering.
Q, yeah that probably wouldn't be a good thing.
D2 - there are people like that in every family. Just to make you feel better, maybe we should get together for a drink...tomorrow maybe? :)
heppy!
I like that idea, Tink.
"lift your arms too high"
Or your legs.
Tink!
Now, that was subtle, Deet.
Y'all have no imagination.
Tomorrow night is my family holiday gathering. Thankfully, I like and get along with all 20+ of my cousins who will be there.
Open bar?
