He sounds like a wonderful man, DD.

I've stopped keeping my mouth shut concerning unruly theatre patrons. We pay too much to see these shows. if someone's causing a disturbance, I confront them about it and make it stop. I['m just scary enough that they always stop - probably because they're afraid I'll find out where they live.
I've received a LOT of thank yous from other patrons because of this choice.
DG, I'm going to the theatre with you next time!
I speak up, after I've done the turn around and GLARE or 'shush!' thing. I should just learn to say something firmly from the start.
I'm too passive-aggressive to say anything, but my most frequent theater companion has at her disposal a terrifying glare and a loud, sharp SHHHHH!!! which she uses when necessary.
She even scares me.
I have a friend who speaks up a little too loudly. He disrupts it even more...
There's a balance.
Congrats (again) DD! But, I felt it was only fair that I give them to FOA first.
If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
Tell us something that you think we’d be surprised to know about you?
What was the last "great" present that you bought for yourself? And, for someone else?

Addy - I absolutely agree - it makes no sense to add to the disturbance. But it's usually possible to make your point without further disruption.
DD - If you were a car, what would you be and why? What about a tree?
DD: Top or bottom? (I'm of course referring to bunk beds!)
Agree, DG!
I meant to tell you, I saw the play write Doug Wright at the Rent party. I so wish I could see that again!
...was in the same theatre last night, though. Seeing Lieutenant of Inishmore.
I have no idea how to describe it. Horrifyingly funny?

Is anyone else kind of creeped out by the "Who would you rather . . ." thread? I think I'm becoming way too over-sensitive.
I just looked at it for the first time. It seems harmless enough, although they are now naming inanimate objects "to do".
The Skank Tank thread is getting on my nerves. They must be using a very broad definition of skank.

Haven't opened that thread yet. Should I?
DD- if you could play any role on Broadway for one night, which role would it be?
Short and non-smeller here. The best of both worlds.
Shamey... so glad I finally got those questions to answer...
If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
Probably my best friend, JustIn. He makes me laugh, listens to me, yet does not let me wallow in my own misery. And God knows I'd be miserable recuperating in a hospital.
What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
Getting to take a couple of trips and meeting wonderful people: my visit to NYC after an 12 year absence, seeing great shows, and getting to meet some very dear bww friends on both coasts.
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
Well, since this was an exercise for me before, here's what some people DID say about me:
Real and straightforward, good listener, creative, funny, dependable, persistent, loyal, judgemental, short tempered, can be a snob, obsessive, impatient, avoids conflict.
I'd say they were pretty accurate.
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
Bungee jumping. Always wanted to try it.
Tell us something that you think we’d be surprised to know about you?
I can't stand the taste or smell of olives or watermelon.
What was the last "great" present that you bought for yourself? And, for someone else?
For myself: Whistler vacation
For someone else: I'm terrible at giving good presents, I can never think what to give. It would have to be an iPod for a friend that really wanted one. I usually give lots of little things...

DD: If you were Addy for a day - what would you do?
If you were a car, what would you be and why? What about a tree?
If I were a car, I'd probably be an MG. A simple, fun, fast car that's not too fast or crazy, just enough to get the blood pumping, stylish not being trendy.
If I were a tree, I'd probably be a cenizaro (raintree) - rare tree indigenous to Costa Rica. It's strong, evergreen (I like to think of myself as a person that enjoys all seasons), unique...
Top or bottom? (I'm of course referring to bunk beds!)
Top... I get claustrophobic on the bottom.
If you could live anywhere in the world (other than where you currently live), where would you live and why?
Athens, Greece. Cosmopolitan city, artistic, love the greek people and their food (except for their love with the olive), and it's a short ferry ride to the Aegean Islands. What more could I want?
If you could play any role on Broadway for one night, which role would it be?
Any role? Anita in West Side Story.
As a male, Rum Tum Tugger in CATS. (yep... I love CATS)
And I've stayed away from the "Who would you rather..." thread.
If you were Addy for a day - what would you do?
Hm... this deserves some thought. Definitely would wear my pink pearls all day long. And veuve would be involved at some point.
What's your ideal meal?
It would begin with a mixed-green salad with balsamic vinegar vinaigrette, tomatoes and dried cranberries
The main course would be a rare NY strip, grilled to perfection, and Australian lobster tail, served with asparagus and garlic/red mashed potatoes
Followed by some cheeses, nuts and fruit to cleanse the palette
And Bananas Foster for dessert
A nice malbec would accompany dinner.

Oh dear God, I just read your sig. That's fabulous!
Isn't it? Brd is always reliable for a good signature. It looks like I missed a lot of fun last night. Hopefully I'll be able to fix my computer today, and all will be well with the world again.

Addy used to be the QUEEN of sig quote contributions - but I do believe our dear brd has taken over the title. Some of them have been priceless - and that one is the best!
brd has been my last two sigs.
