A personal preference would be Fauchon, but that may have less of a desired atmosphere than the hotel tea foyers/restaurants, as it is located right next to the busy shop. But how can you turn down foie gras on toast crisps?

I'd think that the tea at the Ritz would HAVE to be good, though I've yet to go, as it is still relatively "new" (well, the hotel that is). And I forgot to mention the Mandarin Oriental over by the Time Warner Center. I can't imagine that they would have anything less than stellar as well.

BT - Hello! So nice to see you on the board.

I thought of you yesterday evening. I took houseguests down to the tidal basin. We stayed until sunset - beautiful color and a different perspective than viewing the blossoms during the day.
