Hello, all.
The 'other half' has only slept ten hours since we've been here - and it's starting to wear on him badly. We won't be recommending the Paramount to anyone, of that I'm certain.
LESTAT was one of the biggest piles of crap I've ever seen in my life - and that includes junior high productions. I had two moments of levity - the ends of both acts - during which the stupifyingly inane proceedings on stage caused me to laugh out loud, and cause more laughter around me. It was jaw-droppingly pathetic - in the extreme.
Hopefully, THE COLOR PURPLE tonight will get us back on track. Although, if we continue not to get any rest in this hell-hole of a hotel, it won't matter anyway - we'll either be dead, or so pissed it won't matter what's going on!
Thankfully, there's dinner tomorrow night which will lift my spirits no matter WHAT is going on!

Can you find another room???
I look forward to the TCP review.
Sorry you have such a miserable room, DG... You guys are so busy that you need to be able to get your rest...

Believe me brd, I checked. Nothing's available for the whole length of our stay unless we go into the price stratosphere - and we'd rather drop from exhaustion than go that route.
DG... I'm so sorry about the hotel. That totally sucks!
I'm glad to see you survived Lestat.
my advice to you, young man, is to start drinking heavily.

DD - I actually wrote something on ck's review thread on the main page. Those that know how positive I really try to see things will understand what my reaction must have been if I wrote that
And yeah, the hotel situation is not good - BUT, we're still here seeing shows, so on it goes!
OY... I have to venture to the main board?

papa - what makes you think I haven't? My crab cakes for lunch at Pigalle went very nicely with the Oban
the lack of typos clearly shows that you're not trying hard enough, dg.
DG-PLEASE do me a favor and do this- go immediately to the manager of the hotel. Demand to see him/her. Explain that you haven't slept, etc, and that you and other members of your party are all sick from no sleep. They can move you to another room and give your room to someone else when they check in. Also, I never believe it when they say they have no rooms. They're holding them for some celeb-believe me. Threaten going to the better business bureau. Whatever you do, let them know that you can't spend another night in that room. PLEASE do this. If you won't, let me do it for you.

Jane - we tried that when we first got here and got nowhere - but I'm on the verge of mounting a second attack.
By all means a second attack. Tell them you've been here several nights already and it hasn't changed. Tell them you'll be checking out today. Why don't you find a room somewhhere else? really.
IF all fails, get earplugs and/or drugs. Seriously
Hey all.

Jane - the biggest problem is the bed. We've managed to ignore the fact that what was presented as a three-star accomodation has NO ammentities whatsoever. BUT, the 'bed' is a 5-inch box-spring topped by a hard-as-rock mattress that is so old it tilts toward the center from both sides - and the whole ridiculous set-up sits basically on the floor. I have seriously had better accomodations at the Y - and I'm not even lying.
DG I am so sorry the hotel thing is so bad. When Dave and I stayed at the Shorham, gawd the bed was awful and the room was just bad think minimalist prison cell!
Just popping in to say hello to you all.
I am sorry about your accomodations DG.
All I can say is dem folks must be ratbastards!
BTW - The Broadway/LA Season was announced in the paper today. Some good shows are coming this a way.
OH!!! I was assuming it was a noise problem. So are all their beds the same deal? Did you ask them if there are different beds? Don't laugh, but perhaps buying one of those blowup beds is the answer. I don't think they're expensive and many of my friends use them.
I have an air mattress for guests and it can be pretty comfortable.
(Used it for an unfortunate cat peeing in bed incident).
