They have coupons for champers now? How fabulous is that?
I just took a walk outside to get a sammich and the sun is out, and it's soooo warm and delightful! We have not seen sun in over 32 days!
Yikes cheeze... it almost sounds like Seattle.

I know DD! I am all for this sister city thing, but Seattle can keep most of the rain.lol.
Oh we have plenty.
The one time I was in SF in August a few years back it was colder and darker than Seattle. And WE'RE the ones with the bad weather reputation.

Oh honey! NEVER come to SF in July and August - that's when we get our bad fog. The best time is Sptember and October. That's our indian summer and it is usually beautiful. Especially when it rains so far into spring, that seems to make our summer months even longer.

The very first time I went to 'The City' was in July, and all I had was summer clothing. The VERY first thing I did was go shopping! I couldn't believe how cold it was.

Like you would even have a hard time finding someone to warm you up.

I was going to say, "I don't like to be tied down, so I have to have something warm to get from one place to another." But then I looked at that statement, and thought . . . oh, nevermind.
LOL
July/August is the best time to visit Seattle. *ponders*
Hello all. I've had an absolutely delightful afternoon with the misses Pennywise - junior and senior. We were going to meet at the Zoo but about 5 million other people had the same idea. Instead we had a nice leisurely lunch at a lovely French restaurant on Connecticut Avenue. I heard all about their wonderful trip to New York and we promised miss pennywise junior that we'd try the zoo again - when all those other people went home. It's so warm and sunny outside - it reminds you of a lovely June day!

Oh, Mamie, how wonderful! I was just sick that I didn't really get to spend time with Miss Pennywise in NYC - just one more thing about our trip that WASN'T what was asked for! But I'm happy you got to have such a nice visit on a fine day
Yes, DD, Seattle in August . . .
Mamie, how wonderful!
It's such a beautiful day... sounds like the perfect way to spend it!
Not a problem sweetie. We'll just make sure that MP is included when you come to DC.

Addy - did you see my post about the Forsythia? You would LOVE this woman - she treats it like she's Eliza in her own flowershop
I did, DG.
I had to most beautiful drive to/from PA yesterday/today. The forsythia and flowering trees are all just beautiful, and my route takes me past a farm of display gardens. Simply glorious!
Heloo Addy DG Mamie (I don't believe we have 'met') and DD how are things. Yes today is a gorgeous day and I now have 4 days off !!!!
Hi Kansas!
Hope you're doing something fun for the days off!
I'm going to be heading to CT on Saturday for Easter weekend. I'll stay in the city tomorrow, and attend Good Friday services here, but then go to CT for the Saturday night Easter Vigil and Sunday Easter morning services. I hope the weather stays nice. I'd like to get out in the garden.

Hi, Kansas - good for you! Enjoy!
Addy - maybe you'll know (NO one else did that I asked!) - what are the trees that were all bursting with the little white blossoms last week? I saw them everywhere, but no one knew what they were. I think crab-apple, but I don't know.
crab-apple or pear.

They were so beautiful! And seeing all that white in the trees made me miss the Dogwoods again
Sounds like the Bradford flowering pear tree. They are really pretty, and have a fluffy white blossom.
I ADORE dogwood!
