But - I remember pants made out of parachute material.
Maybe they were a polyester/spandex blend.

I also remember "sit 'n spin" - you'd just spin for hours, and go nowhere...except into the wall where you cracked your head open when you tried to get up...

you did??? The shoes were called "Crayons" they came in a variety of colors. They were canvas uppers with plastic bottoms. They came in so many color combinations.

Wrap skirts.
Everything trimmed with ribbon.
leather 'strip' belts in a rainbow of colors with gold belt buckles in the shapes of shells, stars...
canvas slip-on shoes (pappagallo...) in every color...
burgundy.......or as they were to referred to as 'oxblood' bass weejuns with a shiny penny and a white shirt with blue jeans, for the preppy period

Ladies you remember those jeans that were high waisted and had two zippers on the front. We used to call them "easy access pants" hehe....they made for wicked cameltoes!
