First car was an old Beetle. Then I got a Malibu Classic with an engine the size of Ohio and all bets were OFF!
We got a Malibu Classic my senior year along with our Torino station wagon and Caprice Classic. Power surges all!!!
...not to mention the weekends wasted studying and preparing for them.
I remember going to see RollerCoaster (the movie), complete with surround sound, the night before my first stab at SATs. Not a good idea.
A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.
Go right to the source and ask the horse
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse.
He's always on a steady course.
Talk to Mr. Ed.
People yakkity yak a streak and waste your time of day
But Mister Ed will never speak unless he has something to say.
A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And this one'll talk 'til his voice is hoarse.
You never heard of a talking horse?
Well listen to this. I am Mister Ed.

NYadgal - I did the Rollercoaster thing, too! Timothy Bottoms - always was intrigued by that name . . .
Surround Sound just gave me a headache...
Boobs - Mr. Ed! Nothin' better than that to sum up childhood TV!
DG- your a man after my own heart!!
My first car was a 1974 Nova, 350 V-8....When I floored it, it sounded like a rocket launching...and I then I could literally watch the gas gauge sink to the E.
What a fun car
I didn't buy a car until I went to college (Ford Mustang), but in High School I was given permission to drive the family station wagon. I pretended to be horrified at having to drive it, but I secretly loved it...
Can you say fold-down back seats?
(although, I was a 'good girl' in high school, so they were sort of wasted on me...but I did manage to work up a good steamy window on occasion...)
